scum
I think one has or is close to being released because of time served. The other one will more than likely serve only four years because of time already served.
The smirking is what gets me. I don’t think they believe they did anything wrong.
Glad that you’re upholding the English language F15Eagle.
I work in a high school and I never let “your” pass for “you’re” or allow students to mix up there, their and they’re or to, too and two, its and it’s or use “alot” instead of the correctly written “a lot” (the one I despise the most).
But, sadly, I am old school and even adults I work with (who should know better and set a better example) mix up your/you’re, to/too/two, their, there and they’re, etc. I am really irritated by the misuse of “it’s and its” — which is so simple to figure out. If a high school kid uses “it’s” instead of “its” in a written paper, I have him read it out loud using “it is” — because, I tell him, that’s what he wrote. Helps a bit, but there are a lot of adults who don’t get it.
My family is mortified when I take out my indelible ink pen or white out and correct signs, i.e. like this one: “Have kid’s put jacket’s here.” Corrected a menu the other day.
Sigh. If we don’t hold up the proper standards of the English language, who will?
That would be especially true of Freepers, almost all of whom get it wrong. See my tagline.
Re your post 26, I do not understand how anyone could get “loose” confused with “lose.” They are not pronounced the same. Nevertheless, most Freeepers continue to use “loose” in the place of “lose.”
These are spelling errors that should have been corrected in the fifth grade.
I think using “alright” instead of the proper “all right” is REALLY bad use of the English language. Right up there with the interchanging of “affect” and “effect”.
Very sad, but true: Anyone who goes to Dodger Stadium wearing a Giants shirt does so at his/her own peril. Drunk, stupid fans do not believe in freedom of expression.
? $2 night ?
that would bring only the best out...YES indeed.
May God Bless you and keep you safe in and to and from the school that you’re teaching in.
I sense that will be their new hobby
Bravo to all the grammarians on this thread. Sometimes we allow ourselves to be cowed into holding our tongues, but it is important to uphold standards of proper English usage. By the way, “pled” and “pleaded” are both accepted forms for the past tense of “plead.” And, yes, the period goes inside the quotation mark.
Thanks. I thought I’d never leave Southern California but now I’m not so sure.
I have family in the Bay Area and it’s getting crazy up there too.
Stay safe, friend, this state has gone insane...
I’d guess prison is home-away-from-home for these thugs.
Thank you.
I’ve always thought that the best way to learn spelling and grammar is to read published authors and pay attention to the way they write the English language.
Periods inside quotation marks irritate me. It’s this .” not this “. And, it’s not a small mistake, IMO.
Tea party infiltrators LOVED to make up signs with all kinds of misspellings, grammatical errors and other obvious mistakes so the media could say, “Look! They’re nothing but a bunch of uneducated hillbillies!”
That’s why it’s important to be as correct as possible, we conservatives are already labeled by the media as uneducated idiots of low intelligence.
Periods inside of quotes is almost always correct.
