SAN ANTONIO -- The online debate between Mayor Julian Castro and Lt. Gov Candidate Dan Patrick took a turn to YouTube Monday when Patrick released a video criticized the mayor for not setting a date for a debate they agreed to via Twitter.

The issue started when Castro tweeted to Patrick calling him the most "anti-immigrant Republican candidate," and then called him the "Pete Wilson of Texas."

Pete Wilson was the former governor of California who spearheaded the passage of Proposition 187 in 1994 which sought to ban illegal immigrants from using a slate of services in the state.

Patrick fired back asking for a debate, to which Castro agreed to do. Since, a debate date has not been set and Patrick's office said they've given Mayor Castro multiple dates but the mayor hasn't come up with a date.

Castro has defended his comments saying:

"I though it was wrong back then for someone like Pete Wilson to bash immigrants to try and get elected, and I think it's wrong for Dan Patrick to try and do the same thing," said Mayor Castro about the tweets. "It's against the spirit of the Texas economy and against the spirit of Texans in general to scapegoat people and create a fear and a hysteria of these immigrants."

Now, Patrick released the following video of himself at the Alamo calling for Castro to set a debate date and claims to care more about the citizens of Texas than mayor does.

The tax paying citizens of San Antonio are being robbed by their Castro as he is using his time to attack Dan Patrick.

As much as I like exposing these two Sandinista fraudsters who are making a killing off their ethnicity and stupidity, Patrick should not allow himself to be pulled into dirty bathwater.

Just point out that Castro passed an illegal measure in his city to block Christians from serving in the government there, so he has no grounds to talk about discrimination. Then tell him to jump off a bridge...

o.k....I must be having a senior moment. Castro isn’t running for any office. Why debate him?

O.K....O.K....publicity for both maybe?

Castro is running to be Hillary’s Vice President. The Communist Castros are a dangerous clan.

Thanks for the insight.

If that is the case...Patrick is a fool to play his game and give him any publicity.

“Remember the Alamo!”

Pretty simple, really.

How insulting. Wilson was a liberal RINO.

It is publicity for his campaign.

Being hated by an gun grabbing, open borders, affirmative action mayor is great in a GOP primary.

Castro already lost his previous debate to Kobach and Tancredo. Kobach and Tancredo went from 15% to 30% approval in front of an audience in NY.

All I know is this: I went to my grand-daughter’s school yesterday with her mom and one of my sons because she was receiving an award at lunch time. I was absolutely shocked because I’m in and around Conroe, Tx everyday and again was shocked. I looked around the auditorium and folks her school was at the least 90% Hispanic minimum. I looked and looked for black kids and couldn’t see more than 3 and looked too for whites and saw maybe 10.
Afterwards, I thought, “the white kids must be going to private school or some type of segregation must be going on.
Her neighborhood is mostly white. I mean granted there are apartments around of which I don’t usually see their ethnicity.

I was wondering if you had any more info on that. Banning Christians from city work sounds disgusting. I would love to know more.
