John McCain says Hillary Clinton would win the White House if the 2016 election were held today

Self-described 'Maverick' Senator John McCain is making waves with his defeatist statements about how formidable Hillary Rodham Clinton will be as a presidential candidate, predicting that she would win if the 2016 election were held in 2014.

'I would bet, my friend, as much as I hate to admit it,' McCain told Piers Morgan during his Thursday night CNN broadcast, 'that right now – this is why we have campaigns – but right now, if the election were tomorrow, Hillary Clinton would most likely be the president of the United States.'

The Arizona pol and 2008 Republican presidential nominee was responding to comments from Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, who told a columnist that Americans weren't ready for a female president – at least not as much as they were eager to elect an African-American.

McCain and Hillary developed a strong friendship during her Senate years, and McCain’s wife and Hillary are best buds.

Sorry Juan but her voter base doesn’t get up until three or four in the afternoon. If they had held the election today, even her supporters that were given the memo when they woke up still wouldn’t have been able to get to the polls before they closed. Those people are SLOW in more ways than one.

RE :”Hey, somebody has to be Hillary’s SoS, and McCain has street cred in Cairo, Damascus and Benghazi.”

I can see McCain as Hillary's VP.

However because both of them are geezers the millenniums who pushed Obama over the top might stay home on election day, in that case.

I simply cannot impart in mere words my disgust at this person I once regarded as a Patriot.

If he really think the Hildebeast is in line to be POTUS, how, if at all, does he propose to discharge his duty as an American Citizen to stop her?

Of course, the entire debate may be academic - I do not expect Obama to turn over power 20 January 2017. Just my senescent maundering - he didn't purge all those flag and general officers - let alone lower ranking officers - to preserve the security of our Beloved Nation.

And why do we need all these paramilitary types proliferating under his aegis?

We've all seen this before - we studied it in school in my youth - I'm just stunned that, not only is it happening here, but it's happening with little resistance and widespread acclaim.

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

I actually agree with you.

But...I keep wondering if she will get Michelle to run with her. Don’t know why that keeps running around in my head.

Then we would have two women..one of which is a minority. AND two popular (for the Dems) first Dudes.

I may be unnecessarily worried.

I think she wants to runs and Bill likely wants her to run because he loves campaigning. I'm just not sure the old drunk can handle a grueling campaign, particularly if she has any worthy primary challengers.

“predicting that she would win if the 2016 election were held in 2014.”

He’s probably not wrong on that. Fortunately, the election isn’t in 2014, but 2016. Plenty of time to get ducks in a row, and all that.

Yes she is, and she's also got too much baggage from decades in the national spotlight, and the Benghazi massacre hanging around her neck.

A lot of libs and Freepers are going to be hugely saddened when she finally tells the press that she wants to be a full time grandma.

Normalcy Bias?

IOW, I'm a grateful product of several millennia of progress in Western Civilization - Graeco-Roman, Judeo-Christian, Anglo Saxon Traditions, brought here by our forebears and nourished during two and a quarter centuries of American Freedom and Ascendency?

Guilty as charged, and damned proud of it! In fact, I revel in it!!

Right.
All those years of her heavy boozing and I do mean heavy boozing have taken a toll on her.
LOOK at her! She's not in good shape or in good health, despite the tons of money she's made and could easily spend on herself.
