It won’t be a 2-way street here. Tyrannical governments don’t do this to an armed populace. The storm troopers of a fascist government wouldn’t put up their own hides against the fusillade of hunters and armed citizens. This will happen here AFTER they disarm us.
But how does one go about disarming 330 millions in a country this size? H-bombs won’t do it, drones won’t do it, you can’t draft enough soldiers, cops and mercenaries to do it.
I think my 300 Win Mag will make a pretty good sniper weapon.
2DVet, I respect you as a FReeper, as a veteran, as an American, but as a young conservative man of 34 years, I’ve watched, since I’ve been old enough to vote, as our federal government has incrementally turned the screws and cut us as a nation by one little pinprick after another.
If you don’t think they’ve already started playing the chess game to incrementally remove arms from the hands of Americans, you’re not paying attention. This isn’t going to happen the way the did it in Stalinist Russia or Weimar Germany. This is going to be a very subversive, slow, methodical march to total disarmament. It won’t involve door-to-door confiscation. There will be specific laws and regulations put into place that will make criminals of gun owners under the cover of executive orders and other unconstitutional means.
I’m not saying they’re going to use legal or overt maneuvers. They’re not that dumb, because they know that’ll turn into a hot war in no time. They are slowly making all of us criminals in some fashion. As Ayn Rand pointed out, they cannot control law-abiding citizens, so they’ll simply make us all criminals and rely on our own guilt to get their way.
It is now a simple matter to add items to obamacare, with the ARMED IRS overseeing the processes. If, for instance, the oligarchs put a provision into the ‘law’ that on any visit to the doctor you or your child must answer certain questions, the very act of having a gun in the home can be construed as a health hazard. It is the way these fascist bastards think! Regulations and provisions, and enforcement via withholding what you or your children need is all the force they need to fundamentally transform America! [ hmmm, now where have I heard that phrase before? ]
There have been over ONE HUNDRED MILLION additional firearms sold in America since November 2008, not to mention billions of rounds of ammunition. If their intent is to disarm us, they’re ****ing it up far worse than Obamacare. If Obamacare worked like their disarmament push, it’d cover every disease known to man, the doctors would come to your house and it’d cost $5 a month.
I’m not seeing panic in the ranks of the protestors.
In fact, I seem them trying to re-advance into position when driven out by heavy fire.
I believe I’ve gained a hella lot of respect for the Ukrainians. There doesn’t seem to be much of the coward among them.
It ought to give pause to our rulers, nicht wahr? And don’t think they aren’t studying these videos like they’re game tapes in Bear Bryant’s locker room.

I’m not saying they’re succeeding in the breakdown of sales, but at some point, I fear very soon, registration mechanisms are going to be put into place. If you’re buying your ammo online or using a credit card, they can already track what you’re buying, so they’re going to know.
All it will take is a judiciary filled with activist judges to sign off on no-knock warrants for houses “suspected of terrorist activities,” and our homes, yours and mine, become warzones with local and federal jackboots tossing flashbangs into our living rooms and killing our dogs.
They’ll use fascist means to terrorize the populace into submission. Just look at what they did in Boston after the marathon bombings, and people WILL comply. I’m not sure I could find more than a half dozen able-bodied men and women in my immediate neighborhood who’d be willing to stand up with small arms against an increasingly militarized police state with MRAPs, thermal imaging on helicopters, drones, etc. We can’t win those battles if we’re completely disorganized, and unlike you, I have no military experience.

MRAPs can be defeated with $3 Molotov cocktails. You do know how to make one, don’t you? “Military experience” isn’t always needed. Obviously, you can read. Well, start reading, and I don’t mean comic books or Sports Illustrated.
There are about 116,000,000 households in the United States. How do you raid even 1% of those in a year, much less a night? There are far fewer police and military in this country than you might think and they have families just like you and I. They don’t want to die and they don’t want their family members to die or get hurt & harassed.
Wasn’t Ukraine lost to filthy muslims decades ago anyway?
I hope the comic books and Sports Illustrated comment wasn’t intended as a dig. I’m trying to be civil in this discussion, sir. I spend more time reading than most men my age, and the subject matter is political these days.
That said, I read a lot of men and women using the same tack that soldiers and police have families too, but I don’t believe that the majority of them think the way you think they do. Modern police forces believe they are indestructible, and when they meet a man who overpowers and/or kills one of their own, they come out with force multipliers in a shock-and-awe campaign to make most modern foreign militaries look like toy soldiers. While there are myriad “good eggs” in today’s police forces across our nation, there are an equal if not greater number of thugs infiltrating those ranks killing family pets and bullying citizens.
Obama’s already made clear that he intends to create a civilian army, likely culled from the ranks of poor urban blacks, and he’ll hand them arms and send them marching out of the ghettos and into our neighborhoods to terrorize us in the name of federal government control. While blacks and Hispanics still comprise a smaller contingent of the American populace than whites, I would still bet that white Americans wouldn’t fire back until it’s too late.
Most of us have been cowed into a false sense of security, and as long as our lights are on, the TV is flickering, the Internet works, and our cell phones are charged, the urge to stand up and physically put one’s body on the line in the name of Liberty is lost on today’s generation.
I’ve said it on FR many times, and I’ll say it again here: I have the stomach to fight, but I will not fire the first shot. I’ve already been a victim of violent crime at the hands of a thug wannabe. I will not allow my government to do the same thing to me.
They will try to disarm individual citizens by attcking them with full SWAT teams in the middle of the night, but they won’t get far before the word spreads and people band together to fight back. They can’t get 200,000,000 guns that way.
