First, we force a runoff in Texas on March 4th, then we force a runoff in North Carolina on May 6th, then we oust Mitch McConnell on May 20th, then John Cornyn on May 27. Then we take out both Graham and Cochran in June. Then comes August, with all our momentum and enthusiasm directed right at Pat Roberts and then Lamar Alexander.
Then, on to November!
Five months is an eternity in politics. Yes, that gives Wolf time to catch him and surpass him. I wonder if Roberts is ACTIVELY campaigning in Kansas. Anybody know?
“I wonder if Roberts is ACTIVELY campaigning in Kansas. Anybody know?”
He’s an old coot who probably thought his reelection was a sure thing. So now he’s probably talking to his buddy Orrin Hatch to see how he got successfully reelected.

Well, since he doesn’t actually LIVE in Kansas (and hasn’t for decades) he may not know his way around Kansas to campaign.
First, you get slaughtered in Texas because your alternative candidates stink, then you get slaughtered in North Carolina because your candidates stink, then you might win in Kansas because Roberts is old and not doing well.
Bottom line, CANDIDATES MATTER.
Run good candidates and you can (and maybe even deserve) to win. Run lousy ones and you deserve to lose.
Yes it is as simple as that.
“Hes an old coot who probably thought his reelection was a sure thing. So now hes probably talking to his buddy Orrin Hatch to see how he got successfully reelected.”
Hath got reelected the old fashioned way: he went and begged Sarah Palin for an endorsement. For some strange reason she gave it publicly, and he won.
Don’t forget about primarying John Boehner!!!
Has KS ever rejected a big name which the voters recognize in a primary?

Jeez...I must have missed the news that Cornyn and Little Lindsey Graham avoided runoffs in their respective primaries.
Roberts can still win and he probably will if he gets out and campaigns across the state with an old fashioned press the flesh campaign. But, I don’t know that he has ever done that so he probably doesn’t know how. More importantly, he probably doesn’t want to, so his choices are to tap into Republican national money and attack Wolf, or decide to retire. Raising money is something else that he probably doesn’t want to have to do, so right now I’m leaning toward retirement.
1.) Roberts is a conservative
2.) This poll is worthless
It’s a small surge for sure.
This is a big deal. I don’t live in KS, but while perhaps in NY or MA it wouldn’t be an issue, in the “real” part of America people like their representatives to actually live there.

Roberts is NOT a Conservative...and he doesn’t even have a residence in Kansas.
You live where you say you live and as long as you do not register to vote in two places at the same time, or vote in more than one location, it is PERFECTLY LEGAL!
I don’t know if Roberts is actively campaigning in person, but I heard his new ad is sure pissing people off. He apparently is claiming that Wolfe has more donors from Texas than Kansas (i.e. that he is supported by Tea Party people who don’t have Kansas values). Balls!
All of that is in response to this devastating Wolfe ad: http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/pat-roberts-milton-wolf-kansas-senate/2014/02/14/id/552954
A conservative you say?

Pray you are correct!
Yes he is and yes he does. Heritage 90% with the average Republican at 67%. Freedom Works 94%. He has a house but rents it out. His job is in Washington. Why should he have a home there and an empty house in Kansas. He is a property owner in Kansas.
