The “Republican” brand is severely tarnished.

Currently just 25% of Americans identify themselves as “Republicans.” On the other hand, 38% of Americans identify themselves as “conservative,” which is more than any other ideological group by 15 points.

These numbers are prompting a national conversation about how to “save the soul of the Republican Party” among conservatives, or if the party is still worth saving at all.

Really? What do you think that would be?

Originally, back in the 1850s, they promised not to get involved in social matters.

NO.

There is no ‘saving’ the GOP.

It never was and never will be a Conservative party.

The GOP is now just another arm of the MarxoFascist Democrat regime, it’s infiltration and sabotage apparatus for the Agenda.

You'll have to define "soul" first.

Words mean something.

Who cares?

The most important concern is this:

“Can we save the Republic?”

Who cares about the “soul” that represents sucking-up, get-along, reach-across good ole boys? Take the GOPs money and start over with an actual conservative party.

I’d be more likely to support the GOP if they went back to a “no social issues” approach. Stick to legal matters, rights, and economics.

I guess by “soul” the author means a set of principles or beliefs that distinguish the gop wing of the uniparty from la cosa nostra?

The Whig party and the Federalists will have company in the trash bin of history.

That is the soul of who most of us are. Religious freedom (which includes not paying for the murder of an innocent baby)fighting for that life, living as Jesus taught us which means teaching our children right from wrong, not living a life of sin or condoning others sins.....

Bring back American jobs.

That would be a good start.

Stop importing everything.

Is it worth the attempt?

Perhaps I could buy into the idea of saving the GOP if someone could show me any substantive difference between the GOP and the Democrats.
