Kerry Kennedy 'set to admit leaving the scene of an accident,,,

Kerry Kennedy may agree to a plea deal over driving while drugged charges stemming from a 2012 accident so she can continue her extensive human rights work.

Kennedy, 54, is afraid a conviction would bring with it restrictions that would curtail her international travels – she has visited several dozen countries on humanitarian missions.

The plea deal was previously discussed between her legal team and prosecutors before being shelved, but her attorneys have brought it back to the table with her trial slated to start Monday, according to the New York Daily News.

Lawyers originally tabled the deal while preparing a defense explaining former Senator Robert F Kennedy’s daughter took Ambien by mistake – she meant to take thyroid medication, sources told the paper.

‘Our defense in this case is that Kerry Kennedy did not knowingly and intentionally ingest those sleeping pills,’ her lawyer explained Friday in court.

‘The pills are very similar,’ he added. ‘She took what she thought was her thyroid medication.’

The former wife of current New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Kennedy was travelling between the Western Sahara and Brussels, Belgium during last week’s jury selection process, sources said.

Kennedy faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired by drugs after colliding July 13, 2012 with a tractor trailer on a suburban New York highway, authorities said.

“Humanitarian missions”? Or tax deductible tourism?

I’ve been on humanitarian missions to Vegas, New Orleans, and Daytona Beach. Most were successful, but rarely worth mentioning on CNN International or such.

“...she has visited several dozen countries on humanitarian missions...”

She’s a Kennedy. Probably pressuring countries to do more forced abortions.

In late August, Ms. Kennedy, the president of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights traveled with center delegates to Moroccan-controlled Western Sahara, where they documented cases of police brutality against the indigenous Sahrawi people advocating for their independence, and poor living conditions in Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria.

I think we could call this "feel-good-about-yourself tourism," if we wanted to be uncharitable. OF COURSE both sides in this gussied-up tribal blood-feud treat one another horribly, and of course, all sides treat women horribly, since they're all Moslems.

The pills are very similar?!?!? What does this dim-bulb do........pour her pills into a candy dish?

This 'leaving the scene of an accident' must be a tradition in the Kennedy family..............

I can just see Kennedy on Monday morning, still groggy in bed, on the phone:

“I need to make a trip to document some brutality and squalor. Get me a ticket to a Muslim country.”

Good grief! Background checks, including mental health clearances from doctors, and federal registry should be required before anyone named Kennedy is allowed to purchase a vehicle. Better yet, Kennedys should only be allowed to purchase vehicles for hunting down other politicians.

Brussels is the scene of a human rights casualty, because it is the capital of the EU.

Seems like leaving the scene of an accident runs in the Kennedy family.

Yes there are two Americas.

One for the proles and one for the well connected.

Kerry Kennedy is too important to face the same justice system as the little people.

Her “extensive human rights work” sets her apart from us lesser beings who must toil away just to earn our own sustenance.

... Get me a ticket to a Muslim country."

Where, zoned on whatever prescription medication she brought along, she'll collect evidence that the brutality and squalor have absolutely nothing to do with Islam, corruption, tribalism, or boneheaded egotism. It's all ... Israel's fault! That's it!

The Western Sahara spat is basically a sandbox version of the Palestinian "crisis" ... people sitting in "refugee" camps for generations because they refuse to accept a government that's not run by their tribe. They get less press because it's too far away for anyone smarter than a Kennedy to blame Israel. All the governments involved are Moslem.

Just you or I try to explain to a judge that our DUI was the result of our having "confused," e.g., Gatorade with moonshine (the mayonnaise jars we keep them in are, after all, "very similar"), and see how far we get!

Regards,

Two Americas = one for the members of the overseer class who see themselves as the most fit to RULE and then there’s everyone else.

I don’t think the average person would need a “legal team” to fight a misdemeanor charge like this. But I expect we don’t want this royal elite to be curtailed in her efforts to fly around the world in a private jet telling everyone not to pollute.

How in the heck can you help other people when you’re drugged up and running into tractor trailers?

Kennedy’s daughter took Ambien by mistake

These sleazebag bucktoothed inbreds can't even get a new script when they FU. This is the exact excuse given by cousin and former congress-critter Patrick Kennedy when he screwed up driving.

All Kennedys are scum including Saint Jack.

This story can be a lot shorter:

A rich drug addict is grabbing for any BS excuse to cover up and excuse her crime of DUI hit and run and will probably get off easy.

All the Kennedys have a prescription to Ambien, apparently, so they can cover up their drug habits. What a bunch of screwed up people. If they were not Kennedys, they’d be locked up like the “little people”.
