The United States Postal Service has announced that former NRA President Charlton Heston will be honored with his own stamp. The stamp is part of their “Legends of Hollywood” series, and while the specific issue date has not yet determined, it will be issued sometime in 2014.
Heston was a five term president of the National Rifle Association from 1998 to 2003. He was a tireless advocate for Second Amendment rights and will always be remembered by the NRA faithful for his “cold, dead hands” speech delivered at the 2000 NRA Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The speech was directed to then presidential candidate Al Gore.

I hope they use a picture of him from when he was young. They did it for the Elvis stamps.

Looks like I’ll be sending all my liberal relatives Christmas cards by snail mail this year.
Hopefully this will be a sell out quickly. I plan to get mine as soon as offered. Will make sure this year’s NRA Christmas Cards are posted with these stamps too.
Sheets of C. Heston stamps would make excellent gifts...
It’s the “Legends of Hollywood” series, not the “Legends of the NRA”. I can’t think of too many Hollywood stars more deserving of a stamp under those circumstances. Certainly more deserving than Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, or Bette Davis.
Lets hope that they will be “Forever” stamps.
