This is the shocking moment a pedestrian was killed by a single punch after he got into a row about cycling on the pavement. Andrew Young, 40, became involved in an argument with cyclist Victor Ibitoye after he told him that cycling on the pavement was dangerous. The cyclist rode off but moments later his friend, Lewis Gill, approached Mr Young, who suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome, and punched him in the face without provocation.

See the girl friend/companion fixing her hair? She watches the assault while fussing with her pony tail, and calmly walks on. Her lackadaisical response is almost as bad as the assault itself.
Before knowing the race of the thug, my thought was that life without parole would be appropriate. Now that I know, I hope even a protected minority will get the appropriate sentence for an evil and violent act.
Part out Lewis Gill for his organs, then every morning he can wake up having contributed to society, ... for a while.

People are no longer a$$holes. They "suffer from Asperger’s Syndrome." Then they're called "doting sons." Gimme a break.
Obviously the attacker should go down. I don't think he meant to kill the guy, but he did, and that's that - he should do time for it. If you're big and you don't mind punching people, then you have a serious responsibility to be able gauge your punches. Otherwise... you might kill somebody.
On the other hand, just because this guy died doesn't mean he wasn't a petty, arrogant jackass just looking for a punch. Blocking bicycle riders and shooting off your mouth, in the real world, is a very good way to get into a fight. I'm not defending it, I'm stating a really simple fact. And 99.9999% of the time we're talking about a black eye, and not death.
I have a dear dear friend who has a son with Asperger’s Syndrome. You have to educate this child every day on what is and is not appropriate social interaction.
Asperger’s Syndrome is an inability to determine appropriate responses to feedback. The Asperger’s sufferer does not grasp subtleties such as sarcasm. They cannot properly read and interpret visual cues such as body language. The Asperger’s sufferer sees the world as very black and white. They say what is on their mind - if they observe something good they say so. If they observe something inappropriate they say so.
Yes, the Asperger’s sufferer can come across as an “asshole” and a “loud mouth jerk” to a casual observer. The difference is that the Asperger’s sufferer almost always lacks the requisite “attitude” and intent to be a jerk or an asshole. They truly do not understand that they are being rude.
Psychotic son of a b**** should have been hanged, not sent away for a few years.

So, let me get this straight: Arrogant bike riding dude illegally riding on a sidewalk, possibly endangering pedestrians, gets a reprimand from a much smaller guy and its an invitation to a possibly fatal punch in the face, right?

The thing about people with “Asperger’s Syndrome” is that they are well able to learn a lot of other things. In fact, they are often very intelligent. What is amazing is that they just can’t get a clue about being an “a$$hole.”
That’s why I think it’s bunk. I think “Asperger’s Syndrome” people ARE a$$holes who have figured out how to game the system. In the past, they’d get the snot kicked out of them, and they’d knock it off. Smack a kid across the mouth, and it gets his attention. Have a kid get into a fight and get beat up at school for being a jackass, and he learns.
NONE of that exists anymore - on pain of jail.
“Asperger’s Syndrome” people have figured that out. At whatever age, they realized that the bottom line is that they were NEVER going to be seriously stopped for being an a$$hole. And so my interpretation of what an “Asperger’s Syndrome” person is is simple: they are sadists. They know how to psychologically and emotionally hurt people, they ARE well aware of social conventions, and they violate them for sheer enjoyment.
Add some antidepressants to the mix, and the last vestiges of guilt or shame are chemically erased.
