Republican governors are accusing President Barack Obama of making politically motivated cuts to their states’ National Guard funding.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting between the President and the National Governors Association, the GOP governors said they were deeply troubled by Obama’s tone when asked about planned cuts to the National Guard. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said Obama became ”aggressive” and that his tone “chilled the room quite a bit.”
“He basically said, ‘Many people in this room have asked for cuts, and now you getting ’em,’” Haley said at a news conference across from the White House at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, adding that her husband, a guardsman, just returned from a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan.
She said Obama was trying to “punish all these people who are asking for debt reduction by cutting the National Guard. It’s just not a logical way to do things.”
Texas Governor Rick Perry echoed Haley’s remarks, saying, “I hope that we’re not about to make a tragic mistake in this country by hollowing out our guard in our states in some political statement of ‘you’re all going to feel the pain,’ because that’s certainly what I heard from the President of the United States today.”
“As a matter of fact, he said in that meeting, he said, ‘If I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, you will hear from me,’” Perry recounted. . .

This vindictive POTUS who worships at the feet of Saul Alinsky will do everything in his power to ensure that Conservatives suffer. The closing of the open air WWII National Monument is full evidence of what Obama thinks of military men and women.
I’m of mixed feelings on this one. Isn’t the National Guard capable of being activated and/or taken over by the Feds using an Executive Order? If it is then perhaps it would be better for all of the states to start up their own “State Guard” that does not answer to the Feds in any way shape or form and does NOT accept funding from the Feds.

By design for many reasons. A big one being that a small national guard in a seceding state will have little chance against the might of big govt armed agencies.
The South had it right, to fight against federal control of the states.
Now only if we could find 38 states that could agree on this.....they could go tell the feds to jump in the lake, fire Congress and the Executive Branch, hell even the Supreme Court.

Everybody loves spending cuts until it’s their ox that is getting gored.
It won't be long before Commander-In-Chief Obama finishes building and equipping his Civilian National Security Force.
Then we won't need the National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines.

So Obamacare destroyed Medicare (which folks paid into for many decades...though I am not a fan) and the worlds best medical care in the works. and zero has not cut his funding to the do nothing POS losers that are his constituents. Food stamps have quintupled and SS disability is given to anyone who has a brushed psyche and you make a statement about some ones ox getting gored????

Cuts will have to come from everywhere - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Agriculture, and yes, Defense. Instead of bitching and moaning about their National Guard cuts the governors should have been out there asking when the president was going to start identifying his cuts in entitlements as well?

The libs are falling all over themselves to say the *crybaby* GOP only wants to cut spending if it means cutting food for others.
They truly do believe that food stamps are a right, but that national security (and our military) is a trivial nuisance.
