Florida Democratic congressional candidate Alex Sink said immigration reform was important at a Tuesday debate because, without it, it would be difficult for employers to find people to clean hotel rooms and do landscaping.
“Immigration reform is important in our country,” she said. “We have a lot of employers over on the beaches that rely upon workers and especially in this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people to work to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping? We don’t need to put those employers in a position of hiring undocumented and illegal workers.”

Wow! I was grateful for my housekeeping job at the local motel while in between jobs 20 years ago. They were grateful INS wasnt breathing down thier neck.

If you have ever run your own business, you will know that a bad employee is worse than no employee and a lot of EBTers are worse than most bad employees.

The guy who mows your lawn is most likely to break into your home than anyone else. They are friendly with the dog, they know your schedule, they know what defenses your home has. AND they have to look at the stuff you have and they don’t have on a weekly basis.

Guess: 1/4 are in prison, 1/4 are pushing up daisies, 1/4 on SSDI or some other welfare-for-life program, for the last 1/4 the value of hard work sank in, and they set their lives on a better course, have done well enough for themselves.
I own two houses in Florida. I demanded to the lawn contractor, everyone must be legal if he wanted the contract. Strange, when I made that statement, a new crew was at the house. I did check papers.

As much money as hotels charge for rooms,they can get all the help they need and be paying good wages..All they want is cheap workers.
Where are they getting their landscapers and maids now?
