Missouri Executes Man in '89 Rape, Killing of Teen

A Missouri inmate was executed early Wednesday for abducting, raping and killing a Kansas City teenager as she waited for her school bus in 1989, marking the state's fourth lethal injection in as many months.

Michael Taylor, 47, was pronounced dead at 12: 10 a.m. at the state prison in Bonne Terre. Federal courts and the governor had refused last-minute appeals from his attorneys, who argued that the execution drug purchased from a compounding pharmacy could have caused Taylor inhuman pain and suffering.

Michael Taylor and his partner kidnapped, raped, and butchered a 15 year old girl 25 years ago. What make this story interesting, or disgusting, is the fact that his attorneys tried to block his execution by trying a new tactic of going after the small business compounding pharmacies that mix the chemicals that states use for executions. They identified the Oklahoma company that Missouri was using and basically threatened to destroy their business by publicizing their participation if they continued to supply the state. Their plan worked temporarily but fortunately Missouri found an alternate source and the scum got what he deserved. His partner is slated to join him in October I think.

Hanging still works, and it’s not at all “unusual”. And it’s certainly more humane than creatures like Taylor deserve.

The medical examiner estimated that it took the girl about 30 minutes to die after being stabbed numerous times.

Why can’t they just use the same drugs that veterinarians use to put down pets?
Personally, I’d inject the murdering SOB with Drano, but I’d settle for veterinary drugs.

If anyone cared about the life of the innocent victims, murderers would be put to death within weeks.

I’ve had to have several pets “put to sleep” over the years, and I have attended each one. The animal appears to be literally going to sleep. There are no gasps, no twitches, no convulsions, no cries of pain - they just close their eyes and then their breathing slows until it stops.

No, Ken, it wasn't a hate crime. Look, if you don't get it by now, you may never. But let me explain it again. Hate crimes are special types of criminal charges reserved mostly for straight, white, males. And, in any case, if the victim is white and heterosexual, it is never a hate crime.

I personally think that the SOB should have been executed by the slowest. most painful method possible.

I was on a jury last week for a scum that shot and killed a sleeping homeless man. We couldn’t give him death (it wasn’t “capital” murder) and two of the jurors didn’t “want it on their conscience) that they sent a man up for life, so he got 61 years.

They would have to change the law to do that and it'd apply only to future death penalty convictions. I just find it nauseating that his lawyers were complaining about his pain and suffering. What about Ann Harrison and her pain and suffering and terror? These guys got off easy.

Well that took a while.

I was 8 when it happened. And while the murder didn't register I do remember that for the rest of that school year my mother would walk my sister and me to the bus stop and wait until the bus arrived, and she would be there waiting when the bus dropped us off. We're talking about half a block. She never told me why other than "Oh I just feel like getting out of the house for a few minutes" but it was all about Ann Harrison.
