Why Americans Disliked Piers Morgan
Truth Revolt ^ | 02/26/2014 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 02/26/2014 7:57:20 AM PST by SeekAndFind

This week, CNN's Piers Morgan announced that "Piers Morgan Live" would be coming to an ignominious end sometime in March. His replacement has not yet been chosen. But his television demise came not a moment too soon for millions of Americans who had tired of his sneering nastiness.

The New York Times chose not to see it that way. Instead, the Times insisted, Morgan's problem sprang from his British accent and heritage: "Old hands in the television news business suggest that there are two things a presenter cannot have: an accent or a beard ... Mr. Morgan is clean shaven and handsome enough, but there are tells in his speech — the way he says the president's name for one thing (Ob-AA-ma) — that suggest that he is not from around here." Morgan himself attributed his downfall to his foreignness: "Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it."

No doubt the notion of a British entertainer coming to America, clearing millions of dollars, and then lecturing Americans on their fundamental rights galled many. But what truly galled so many Americans was Morgan's underlying perspective — a perspective shared by the Times, as well as most of the left. Morgan, unfortunately, believes that Americans are typically racist, sexist, homophobic bigots clinging to guns without regard to the safety of children. We, in his world of unearned moral superiority, are the bad guys.

Which is why Morgan had nothing to say when I appeared on his program in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre, handed him a copy of the Constitution to remind him of the Second Amendment, and then told him that he was a "bully...demoniz(ing) people who differ from you politically by standing on the graves of the children of Sandy Hook." His only response: "How dare you."

It's why Morgan had nothing to say when I suggested a few months later that his gushing response to gay basketball player Jason Collins' coming out sprang from his disdain for the American people: "Why do you hate America so much that you think it's such a homophobic country, that when Jason Collins comes out it is the biggest deal in the history of humanity, and President Obama has to personally congratulate him?" Again, Morgan had no answer.

As the left has no answer. The left's perspective on the role of government is inextricably linked to its view that Americans, free of government strictures, are brutally discriminatory, selfishly violent. Without the guiding hand of our betters, we would all be Bull Connors (a government employee), hoses at the ready. Without the sage wisdom of our leftist superiors, we would all be shooting each other at shopping malls.

The countervailing perspective — that America is a pretty damn great place filled with pretty damn great people — has little currency for the left. But when their hate-Americans perspective is repeatedly exposed, Americans begin to find it tiresome. That's what happened with Morgan. That's what will happen to the American left if the American right somehow finds the stomach to call out the left's snobby scorn for everyday Americans.

We ‘disliked’ Piers Morgan, just like other foreign twits and even those ‘citizens’ here of foreign extraction here who persist in lecturing us about our values, or morals, and our beliefs on what the Constitution of this country means to us as sovereign citizens. Be you Mexican, Hispanic, Canadian, British, or Muslim, if your country-of-origin is more important to you than the core beliefs of the founders of this country, then you can just take it to the curb, period.

Also because he was a liar. How are you supposed to have a logical discussion with someone who says “you know who has the highest homicide rate in the country? Virginia” When it’s not true and he has no idea which state DOES has the highest homicide rate. We didn’t dislike him because he was an elitist or because of anything about his demeanor, it was because he would use deceit to champion any radical leftist cause he could find. Go back to England where you belong redcoat

Because he was a government worshiping freedom hating liberal shill?

Because his intelligence was on a par with the sons of Dee Revin MLK?

Because he was a smug condescending a$$hole?

Because he was too stupid to argue things rationally and had to resort to insulting his opponents (unfortunately like many freepers)

Because he was a obnoxious Brit (but repeat mayself)

There are so many reasons to loath Piers Morgan why limit yourself to just one or two?

Unfortunately not true. 51% of the voters apparently like a finger wagging Kenyan lecturing us about what we should be doing.

Why Americans Disliked Piers Morgan

I disagree with the wording of Shapiro's title, specifically the verb. First it is in the past tense. And secondly it doesn't conjure up the actual feeling. If "loath" were substituted for "disliked" I think it would help claify the attitudes, or "loath and despise" would be even better.

How Dare You! also had a physically repulsive appearance, I’m sorry to say. That fat, pasty, oatmeal-complexioned face was such a turn-off. The medieval French called them “ros bifs” and he absolutely exemplified that look. Also, as I’ve written here before, many Brits do not know how to behave once they get to America.

Indeed he did. A paper he edited got caught hacking Paul McCartney's voice mail, and publishing the contents. It was not flattering to Sir Paul.

BTTT!

_______________

IMHO, the major point of contention between Conservatives is the differing level of tolerance each of has for silently allowing elected Republicans or Independents to act as submissive doormats for violators of the US Constitution.

IOW, what level of tolerance does each of us have, when exceeded, that will put the elected Republicans who do nothing to oppose violations of the US Constitution in our personal category of “Do Nothing RINOs?”

For example, my level of “Do Nothing RINOs,” (DNR), tolerance was forever exceeded during the Primary Campaign of 2012.

Full disclosure:
* I will not vote for “Do Nothing RINOs” ever again.

* I shall just leave their slots blank on the ballot, as there is no effective difference between a Do Nothing RINO and a Democrat.

At each time during the past five years of critical voting the Do Nothing RINOs in the House and Senate have voted with the Democrats to approve the violation of the US Constitution being voted on.

Their usual defeatist whine is: “We can’t do anything because we do not have control of the Senate or White House.”

The Do Nothing RINOs were given FIVE years to do something and did nothing.

Now it is our turn.

IOW, the Do Nothing RINOs and the Democrats vote together as a single, unshakable, voting block to rubber-stamp whatever Obama wants to do to “Fundamentally Change the United States of America.”

_____________________

RINOS ARE THE OBAMA TROJAN HORSE TROOPS PARTY

The “RINOs” are really just Trojan Horse troops sent in for token show by Obama.
They do as they are told to avoid Left Stream Media jeers.
John “The Doormat” Boehner has his paranoid fears:
Obama and the Left Stream Media Journalists will drive him to tears.

And then there is “Capitulation” Cantor,
With a soft Virginia Drawl,
Who wears patches on his knees
From his frequent Cave-In crawls.

Don’t forget “No Resistance” Ryan,
Appeasement is his long suit.
No wonder “Romneycare” Romney
Was such a big Ryan fan.

Obama’s Trojan Horse is now filled with House RINOs,
All promising that in 2014 they will ALL be silent.
The Republican’s RINO Rove, and “Wacko Birds” McCain,
Act as the Loyal Rear Guard for the Obama Trojan Horse.

What have we here? So say the skeptical.
Forward, ever FORWARD rolls the Obama Trojan Horse,
Crushing the Constitution, all Checks and Balances, and all who complain,
While the RINOs in Obama’s Trojan Horse stay always silent. and do not complain.

Did Obama capture the House RINOs inside his Trojan Horse?
Or did the Loyal RINOs stampede on to get there first?
The “What” and the “Why” are just idle chatter,
The RINO Five Years of failure, is what the to voter matters.

With only two plus years left to Impeach Obama,
Can the Trojan Horse House RINOs be trusted,
What the Constitution requires elected Stewards to do?
Or will re-elected House RINOs just continue the destructive Obama trauma?

___________________________________________________________________________

The peak Taxpayer “Rage Day” is April 15, Every Year.

For the 53 % who still pay personal Federal Income taxes, I say “Put y’alls Tax Rage to work and get rid of Obama’s TROJAN HORSE John “Doormat” Boehner” on Imperial Democrat Tax Day, April 15, 2014.

As for timing, the new fire-in-the-belly, Speaker of the House can then, with great and detailed TV Fanfare, draw up the necessary Articles of Impeachment on Soetoro-Obama to be officially filed on the Grandest of all Patriotic Days, July 4, 2014.

Then the 2014 Campaign will be going on along with the following:
* Obama’s Impeachment trial;
* Pro-Obama Impeachment street protests;
* Pro-Military street protests;
* Pro-Privatization of “Entitlements” street protests;
* Anti-Coverup of Benghazi Murders street protests;
* Anti-Coverup of Fast and Furious murder street protests;
* Anti-IRS street protests;
* Anti-NSA street protests;
* Anti-Holder’s DOJ street protests;
* Anti-Bypass Congress street protests;
* Anti-Judge Robert’s street protests;
* Anti-Obamacare street protests;
* Anti-Trojan Horse RINOs street protests; and
* Anti-Democrat Party street protests.

Well, let's see...feminine cupids' bow lips that snurl (yes, that is a word...my sainted MawMaw said so) in an arrogant manner when he is talking down to an American...a weak chin that quivers when confronted by a strong personality that will question his inane bullshit...a ski-slope nose that begs to be punched...

I could go on and on, but I was taught to never judge a man by his physical facial attributes.

Trump can like him all he wants. Remember Trump is basically a New Yorker, and even a conservative New Yorker loves more government, hates fears and doesn’t understand freedom, loves the taste of bootpolish, and thinks New Yorkers should tell everyone else what to do. They can’t help it. Their arrogances is born of equal parts of stupidity, bone deep ignorance, and moral cowardice.

Mark Steyn’s British accent is anything but pompous & arrogant a la Piers Morgan. Steyn’s is working class fish-n-chips British, more Andy Capp than Alistair McLean.

Mark talks much like Eliza Doolittle’s longshoreman father in My Fair Lady, which IMO is kind of strange since he is native Canadian.

The principal difference is that Mark Steyn loves America just as much as Piers Morgan hates & despises it.

Hoping that P.M. will make good on his threat to cause trouble for the N.R.A. (”I’m not finished with you yet!”). What’s he going to do, walk up to Wayne LaPierre and kick him in the shins?
