Ted Cruz blasts Obama for failing Venezuela: 'Negotiating with tyrants and bullies never works'
Washington Examiner ^ | FEBRUARY 26, 2014 AT 4:05 PM | CHARLIE SPIERIN

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, spoke out strongly in support of the political uprising in Venezuela and criticized President Obama for his history of "negotiating with tyrants and bullies" in the country.

Cruz criticized a State Department spokeswoman who explained Tuesday that the United States was open to closer engagement with the regime of President Nicolas Maduro.

"Negotiating with tyrants and bullies never works," Cruz said, calling for the United States to demand the tyrannical government to stop oppressing its people and censoring the media.

Cruz also insisted that Obama had a chance to support regime change after dictator Hugo Chavez passed away.

"Instead, the Obama administration opted not to rock the boat in hopes that Chavez's handpicked successor would prove more susceptible to diplomatic outreach, that he might not follow 'Chavismo,' " Cruz said.

Cruz praised his colleague Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., for leading the way with his Senate speech on Monday in support of the Venezuela uprising, encouraging other leaders and Obama to stand with him.

"This is the time for American leadership to speak out in defense of freedom, this is a time for the president of the United States to unequivocally stand against oppression, against totalitarianism, and for the desire of the Venezuelan people to be free and to be prosperous," he said.

Why would Obama criticize his ally?

If the GOPe were more like Ted Cruz (instead of fighting against him) the party would be way ahead in the polls.

Notice how selfless Cruz is. He immediately gives props to Rubio for speaking out first against Venezuela.

The administration's tacit support of, and the liberal media disregard of Venezuela, is too outrageous for words.

Then maybe tgey don’t want to be ahead in the polls

Maybe they don’t want the responsibility and transparency

Maybe they don’t really work for the American people, they just sooze them/ is gor elections

Maybe they like obamacare

Perhaps they send in a tough in the presidential primaries candidate and pull him back diring the time he should be togg, when fighting the dem candidate, under the pretense of rising above fighting

Perhaps they will show their true nature when a politician moves in who defends the constitution expertly and has no flaws, leads in the polls, fights this unlawful regime and these republicans attack him

And it has to be a sore point for them and a vulnerability. We can only hope.

Obama and his cronies in the media wont be saying a word about Venezuela because they love Socialism and they dont want to show how horrible it really is..commenting on it shows everyone the brutal honesty about the evils of socialism, they would much rather forget what is going on in Venezuela, goes against everything they believe in

Now, that is a fact. You can never, not ever, negociate with “EVIL”. Cause “EVIL” will always win. Let’s just look at history for a little while, shall we? Neville Chamberlain “NEGOCIATED” with Hitler, in 1939. He really thought he was dealing with “HONORABLE” people. That’s the problem with “NEGOCIATING” with dis-honorable people, and that is what “EVIL” people do. Since they have no “HONOR” everything they say will be a LIE. What ever they agree to, they will break as quickly as they can, even before the ink is dry on what they signed.

Should be heeded the next time Republicans try to negotiate with Barky.
