Exactly! Maybe the psychiatrist should take the guy home to spend a weekend with him and his family.

Insanity should not be a way to avoid punishment anyway. I don’t care if someone is crazier than an outhouse rat. If he is capable of committing a crime, he should pay the price.

When I watch reruns of the Untouchables and the narrator at the show's conclusion mentions the character was executed on a certain date....then I read stories such as this about the "progressive" society of today.

Well, a good compromise would be for the doctors have these people stay with their families for a few weeks before unleashing them on the public, as sort of a ‘trial run’. I wouldn’t expect the doctors to do this for free of course, so some allowance for room and board would be provided.
