CBS/NYT Poll: Majority of Americans Disappointed With Obama's Presidency

New polling released by CBS and the New York Times shows a majority of Americans are disappointed in Obama's presidency and put his approval at just 41 percent, plummeting five points over the past month.

Amid continued pessimism about the economy and direction of the country, 59 percent of Americans say they are disappointed in Mr. Obama's presidency (including 37 percent who are very disappointed); 40 percent are satisfied. Much of this discontent comes from Republicans and independents, but a quarter of Democrats express at least some disappointment.

President Obama's overall approval rating is now 41 percent, a dip of five points from last month and similar to what it was in December. Fifty-one percent disapprove of the job he is doing, up four points from last month.

President Obama and Democrats have been desperately trying to distract away from Obamacare, the issue fueling bad numbers, with topics like hiking the minimum wage. They've been increasingly unsuccessful. Just this week, Harry Reid tried to say Obamacare horror stories weren't true, only to find himself under fire for his remarks while inadvertently bringing the focus of debate back to the healthcare law. Further, almost half of Americans want Obamacare completely repealed.

Fifty percent think the health care law has good things in it but changes need to be made to make it work better; four in ten want the law repealed entirely (including 70 percent of Republicans).
The midterm elections for Republicans just keep looking better.

I wonder how much worse The Great Leaders ratings would be if this poll had been worded slightly differently.

Disappointment insists that one has possessed positive expectations!

Im not disappointed in the least as I never had any thing remotely resembling Positive expectations about this mysterious sociopathic scofflaw.

40% satisfied? That is sad, pathetic and beyond reasoned belief.

The entitlement army is at least that large.
Don’t underestimate the size of bedrock Dem support.

Also don't forget that SeeBS News and the New York Slimes poll only adults and not likely or registered voters, so 41 percent that voted favorable for him is about 20 percent to high

Here is a screen grab of the poll

What really gets me are the clueless adults in the last category

I am not, NOT disappointed in the Obama presidency,
he has lived up to and even surpassed my every
expectation.

I expect the reader will understand just how
horrible those expectations were.

We have to remember that many people are upset with King Barack because he has not as yet tried to implement a fully Marxist state. For these people, Obama has not been nearly as radically leftist as they would like. Because they're disappointed in him does not mean they wouldn't vote for him again. Many of them thought Obama would immediately start confiscating/stealing the wealth of the rich and give it to them.

Obama would like to do that, which is why we now have all this talk about "economic inequality." The thieves never stop thinking of ways to steal from the producers.

“40% satisfied? That is sad, pathetic and beyond reasoned belief.”

But actually those numbers mean nothing until you know why they are dissatisfied. You might find that a large percentage wish that Obama was more of a communist than he is.

I wonder how Joseph Stalin would fare in such a poll?

Would 75% of the Democrats still be satisfied?
