A Florida TV station reports that a man has spent 50-60 hours trying to cancel his Obamacare plan, and he still can't get off it:

"We are hearing about a new problem that involves the Affordable Care Act," said the anchor. "People who signed up for coverage are finding it impossible to cancel their plans. Channel 9's Lori Brown spoke with an Orlando man who has been trying unsuccessfully to cancel for more than six weeks now."
"Andrew Robinson was looking forward to getting health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. He has a small publishing business and works part time, so he hasn't had coverage. In early January he signed up for a plan that cost nearly $300 a month. About a half hour later he and his wife realized they could barely afford that. They quickly found a less expensive plan through Humana for $116 a month," says the reporter.
"I immediately called back the Florida Blue and asked them to cancel the policy I just set up," says Robinson.
"But he quickly learned canceling Obamacare is no easy task. ... More than six weeks later after spending 50 to 60 hours on the phone his policy is still not canceled and he is still waiting for the payment Florida Blue withdrew from his account to be refunded."

And all of them blind numbskull followers of the pied piper himself, Obamalamadingdong. This is actually very funny!
Why not just quit paying and see what happens?
Don’t pay the premium!!
He’s probably lying according to Harry (the booty) Reid.
Booty as in filthy obtained lucre.
TOTALITARIANCARE locks you in? No problem, the escape hatch is the death panel.
“Why not just quit paying and see what happens?”
Automation withdrawal from his bank account.
” he is still waiting for the payment Florida Blue withdrew from his account to be refunded.”
“Hi, this is Rachel from Care Services . . . . “
Great post, that was the first thing that came to mind.
They already took his money and won’t give it back.
been there, done that.
there are times when you have to change account numbers
to get something to stop,
which means new checks, among other things.
“Automation withdrawal from his bank account.”
There are ways to stop that too!
Well, yeah, that real-time monitoring of every single financial action and your bank account is not something the government wants to give up.
As we are all forced into this program, there will be no way to escape the horrendously anal scrutiny of our money that the government believes belongs to them.
It’s all about TAXES and CONTROL and nothing else. If they wanted to improve health, they would have dealt with healthcare, not insurance, finance (yours), and the IRS.
That which has been seen cannot be unseen......
Obamacare is the Borg.
Just shut off the money — that is all they care about anyway. Insurance? What insurance?
Rule of Socialist Aquisition #1: Once you steal their money under force of law, you never give it back!
Wife set that up for automatic withdraw a couple of years ago to save a couple of bucks and we ended up having to close the account and open a new one. (free, but a hassle with new checks, account number changes, etc.) We couldn’t stop Duke energy from doing it no matter how much we threatened, we learned out lesson and will never allow anyone access like that again.
” Obamacare is the Borg. “
More like an Assimilated Marxist Ferengi....

Time to switch banks and close the account...
Or close down your account, go off the grid, change you name to something ending in “ez” and get a fake matricular card....
Hi, this is Rachel from Care Services . . . .
Rage building, Rage Building.... those jerkwads call me 3-5 times a day... I block every number but they keep caller ID spoofing new numbers ever so many days...

My friends call me paranoid, but I always use a physical checkbook to pay monthly bills...
I don’t think you’re paranoid at all. We still pay some stuff on line but will never allow a withdraw by anyone again.
He could try calling his bank, but I think he'd have to close the account to stop the obamacare payments.
LOL Great idea. Jose Illegalez?
Correct. Before Dodd-Frank it was easy to get what I call throwaway checking accounts: no monthly fee, no or small opening minimum, easy to transfer money in to or out of and easy enough to close. There are still a few places (mostly on-line only) where you can get such accounts. But they are harder to find.
Reid says these stories are just lies.

The part of Obamacare Obama picked up from Islam
Once you take the cheese the trap is sprung.
Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door.
I had to find the passage back To the place I was before.
"Relax, " said the night man, "We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave! "
In the meantime he won’t be able to get new coverage.
Is there any difference to going to your bank and having the bank set up an automatic payment, versus going to the company and allowing them to set up the auto withdrawals?
I would think that if you went to the bank and set it up, it would be way easier to go back to the bank and cancel it.
change you name to something ending in ez
I recall in the 80’s, adding a z to the end of their name was a tactic of the homosexual community..so stylish!
Article said they already took his money.
We use our old bank account to pay the IRS or anything govt. related. It has just enough money in it to cover what we use it for but no more than that. I’ll be damned if I willingly give the Feds access to my money!
So do I. I like having that paper trail and if there's a problem I can go to the local branch of the bank and discuss it. Another fringe benefit is that writing that check means I'm scrutinizing that bill more carefully.
So I'm a banking dinosaur, and proud of it.
Sounds like AOL all over again.
But, but Dingy Harry sand all of these reports were false! Everything was perfect in ObamaCare land, costs were down $2,500 per year, everyone had access to their doctor, etc.
Was already withdrawn and not being refunded.
Question is if he really did as quick a turn-around s he said and tried to cancel within a half hour or if he didn't try until after the policy was in effect. He might have been covered for a while which makes the contract "consummated".
