PALIN MOCKED IN 2008 FOR WARNING PUTIN MAY INVADE UKRAINE IF OBAMA ELECTED
Breitbart ^ | Feb 28, 2014 | By Tony Lee

Posted on 02/28/2014 1:52:52 PM PST by Jim Robinson

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin warned that if Senator Barack Obama were elected president, his "indecision" and "moral equivalence" may encourage Russia's Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.

Palin said then:

"After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."

For those comments, she was mocked by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine and its editor Blake Hounshell, who now is one of the editors of Politico magazine.

In light of recent events in Ukraine and concerns that Russia is getting its troops ready to cross the border into its neighboring nation, nobody seems to be laughing at or dismissing those comments now.

Hounshell wrote then that Palin's comments were "strange" and "this is an extremely far-fetched scenario." "And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel," Hounshell dismissively wrote.

Palin made her remarks on the stump after Obama's running mate Joe Biden warned Obama supporters to "gird your loins" if Obama is elected because international leaders may test or try to take advantage of him.

He’s been hearing it.

“@blakehounshell yeah. Guess #SarahPalin wasn’t the stupid bimbo you and the rest of the hacks in the #MSM thought she was. Egg, meet face.”

“@blakehounshell I think rejoicing is the wrong word. Jumping on Palin for suggesting this back in 2008 as dumb is more like it.”

“@blakehounshell But wait, u said it WASN’T an invasion: thewire.com/politics/2014/… WHEN will u admit Palin was RIGHT? U=Wrong.”

“@blakehounshell @armscontrolnow you should ask @SarahPalinUSA, she seems to have a much better grasp on Russia v Ukraine than you...”

“@blakehounshell Maybe @BarackObama should call @SarahPalinUSA and ask what she thinks.”

YES! Other people remember this as well as death panels! Sarah/conservatives were correct but ridiculed.

It's been going on since forever. It is Satan mocking God. I remember how conservatives were ridiculed for objecting to the sexual content of rock'n'roll back in the 50s -- they were fuddy-duddies, prudes, uptight, sexually hung up, etc etc. Now look:

• One third of American children born out of wedlock, many into poverty and abuse,
• fatherless children committing felony mayhem,
• millions of abortions distorting the economy and disgracing our spirits,
• sex crimes and rapes leading to murder rampant,
• sex crimes even against little babies,
• pornography is our largest sector of internet use and one of our nations's largest exports,
• and standards of dress and dancing for youngsters that would have been classified as pornography in those "uptight" days when conservatives were trying to protect their children and grandchildren from harm.

Oh, ha ha ha. Those stupid conservatives.

The attacks on Gov. Palin were led by Romney and his surrogates out of PRIDE, GREED and ENVY.

And Team Clinton and Team Obama were just piling on? They were the Axis of Evil in that election.

That was a rumor spread by a campaign consultant whose firm worked for McCain. I'm not aware that Romney ever attacked attacked Palin himself, and there was enough backbiting from McCain loyalists against Palin that you don't have to hypothesize any Romneyite conspiracy behind the scenes (plus, I'm pretty sure that if Romney were involved, greed wouldn't have been a motive with all the money he has).

Much of the campaign staff assigned to Palin came from Romney staffers who hired onto the McCain campaign after Romney conceded defeat in the primaries.

Their interest in demeaning Palin was to remove her from consideration and keep the field clear for Romney in 2016. Whether they were acting on their own -- or with Romney's blessing -- is uncertain.

Most of the McCain staffers who actually dealt with Palin and were in the position to make comments based on actually knowing here were long-time McCain loyalists.

Did somebody who worked for Romney or supported him in some way bad-mouth Palin? It would be surprising if somebody like that didn't at some point or other make negative comments. Politics is politics. And in fact, we do find, when the 2012 campaign was getting started in 2010, negative comments about Palin from Romney staffers. That's politics and it's what campaigners do to those they're campaigning against.

But the original story, that somehow back in 2008, McCain staffers who backed Romney were telling stories out of school in a smear campaign was the creation of a campaign consultant whose firm had worked for McCain. So far as I can see there wasn't much substance to it, especially since McCain loyalists were attacking Palin loudly enough then, using their position as those who had some interaction with her to justify stories that would put the blame for their ticket's loss on Palin. It wasn't Romney people who circulated those stories, as far as I've been able to find out.

Would it be wrong of me to feel ‘I just can’t care what they think’? Those who chose to pile on her with such vicious lies and deception, along with vile hatred, will never see the light. They are lost, for now, and until the light shines brightly and drowns out the darkness, I will continue to spread the word to those who are open to truth and goodness.

God Bless Sarah, her strength is inspiring.

You Rock All American Girl!

So you would support a total nuclear war? You've got to be kidding. Prevail over radioactive ruins, massive plutonium fallout - just for starters for those who prevail after surviving 5 megaton thermonuclear blasts over all US cities and much of the countryside.

Speaking of prevailing, you do know where your local fallout shelter is located? You don't? Oh my, the Russians have extensive shelters - whole cities in fact - inside the Ural Mountains - connected to cities via subway with room and supplies for millions for decades.

While the US has been unilaterally cutting the number and type of nuclear weapons and systems, Russia has been maintaining and improving - see the Boralis system for one, not to mention upgrading its mobile launch systems.

Whomever your “proudly and openly CHRISTIAN president who was willing to attack in the name of God’s holy word” might be, it is not Palin. She's smart - not so stupid as to start WWIII with the resulting countless millions of dead US citizens - leaving the rest of the world under Chinese rule.
