AUSTIN, Texas — The state of Texas is appealing a ruling from a federal judge that could impose same-sex “marriage” in the state, as supporters of Texas’ marriage amendment argue that the ruling violates the rights of the state and its citizens.

“We’ve seen a rash of these rulings in recent weeks, all making the same errors about binding Supreme Court precedents relevant to marriage and all issued by activist judges bound and determined to redefine marriage in defiance of thousands of years of human experience,” Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage, said Feb. 26.

“The Texas Constitution defines marriage as between one man and one woman. If the 5th Circuit honors those precedents, then today’s decision should be overturned, and the Texas Constitution will be upheld,” he said.

A quick check of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals shows of it's 17 judges, 4 are democrats, and 10 are republicans, with 3 vacant. If that means anything at all. Never forget that republican-appointee Anthony Kennedy is the one who legalized sodomy in Texas and started this country down the path to Sodom and Gomorrah.

And Perry’s statement about the will of the people is spot on:

” “10th Amendment guarantees Texas voters the freedom to make these decisions” and arguing that Judge Garcia’s decision “is yet another attempt to achieve via the courts what couldn’t be achieved at the ballot box.”

And I have never read anything as ridiculous as what this rogue judge Garcia says:

“Procreation is not and has never been a qualification for marriage,” and “tradition alone cannot form a rational basis for a law,” he contended.”

Foolish as can be.

We’re in trouble though, you are correct, this could go in any direction.

Decades of granting liberals federal judgeships(?) seems to be paying off for the Democrats.

“...Judge Garcia’s decision “is yet another attempt to achieve via the courts what couldn’t be achieved at the ballot box.””

Isn’t this what the ‘Wise Latina’ giggled about when speaking at an alumni conference? These liberal judges approach their work like spoiled children.

And what happens if the 5th doesn’t honor it? Will Perry and Texans tell the feds to piss up a rope?

I’d hope at the least the County Clerks, Mayors, people in those kinds of offices might refuse to issue such bogus licenses. That’s what they said they were going to do in France.

I know some actions of the past have cast France in a negative light but on this issue, they certainly did get crowds to show up and protest and a number of mayors, most of them it seemed in rural areas said they were not going to comply.

It’s principle, in reality, I’m not sure if there are that many “same sex marriages” around.

Oops, the link, they have had big crowds continuing to protest.

Seems like those people protest whatever they can as well.
