Reports of Russian Activity in Crimea Prompts Stern Warning from Obama
By William Booth and Karen DeYoung, February 28 SEVASTOPOL, Ukraine Heightened Russian military activity in Crimea on Friday prompted a stern warning from President Obama and a deepening sense of crisis among the leaders of the new Ukrainian government in Kiev.
U.S. officials said Russian troops had entered Crimea, and Obama told reporters Friday evening that he was deeply concerned by reports of military movements and that there will be costs for any military intervention.

Oh, no. Not a “stern” warning. That’s gotta hurt.
Yep ... stern warnings always work. Not so much if you don’t have the stones to back it up.
Are troops actually entering the Crimea? I’ve now heard its just the soldiers in Sevastopol who were already on the peninsula in the first place.
Stern is the rear end of a boat.
Putin’s a man.
The douche isn’t.
Never thought I’d be pulling for a Russkie.
They took the airports yesterday, which is an obvious move if you are bringing in stuff by air.

Did he use the phone or his pen?
Obama will put Putin on double secret probation now.
“costs for any military intervention.
measured in euros or dollars/
Send in the pansy brigade!
He just might be angry enough to draw another red line.
Putin’s a little thug. Just because we have a child as president doesn’t mean that Russian SOB is a real man. If you like Pooty so much, why don’t you move to Russia?
Have a nice day.
PING!
I wonder, will the Ukranians get free Putin phones if they vote for their new master?
So the Russians should be worried about being over charged again ?
Our current leaders have failed at everything they have done.
The large-brain contingent of idiots (Clown Prince nobama, Lunch Bucket biden and john the traitor kerry) is feckless and limp. They might just bungle into a war and get many others killed. Are those who voted for and support these fools ashamed?
Those that would bungle the USA into a war would, to save their skins, go find a hiding place; probably in a deferred job with the government. I take no pride in having this Nation in the hands of scumbag warriors such as Hegal, Kerry, and their ilk.I feel good saying this as a WWII vet. I have remorse for the voters who paved the way for such a bunch of losers to govern the USA. I am not in favor of challenging Russia’s presence in the Ukraine.
Back in the 1950s....for whatever reason....the Crimea got pushed into the Ukraine for management purposes. They never were part of the ‘big’ history of the Ukraine except the last sixty-odd years.
For the Russians, there is one key aspect to the Crimea (roughly twenty-percent the entire country of Ukraine)....it’s the naval port area. I can understand this and think it’s legit for Crimea to be parted out. This suggestion of the Ukraine doing a fifty-fifty split? No....the Crimea is about the size of Louisiana, and mostly made up of Crimeans, a fair number of Russians, and a few Ukrainians.
Whoever maintains or runs the Crimea....should prepare himself for begging activities with Russian on a weekly basis. The lifestyle and business structure of the region....is kinda like comparing Louisiana against California. There’s just not anything much that generates big income except agricultural stuff, and vacation resorts (which not even Europeans go to). It’s the Russian version of Honduras in the end.
Nobody is going to go to war with a nuclear Russia. And the EU already depends heavily on Russian gas exports, so they’re not going to do anything either military or economic. We’re all just going to have to sit back and suck it as Russia does what it will with Ukraine.
