Clinton advisers sought to soften her image

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s advisers sought to “humanize” what they saw as her stern, defensive public image during her husband’s White House days and as she embarked on her groundbreaking Senate campaign in New York. […]

Thousands of pages of documents released Friday by the Clinton Presidential Library reveal the first lady’s struggles with the health care plan during the 1990s, “an aversion” to the Washington press corps and her transition into a political candidate in her own right as the Clinton administration ended. […]

Clinton’s public image has been a hotly debated topic throughout her career and could linger into any presidential campaign in 2016. She generated headlines during her husband’s 1992 campaign when she defended her work as an attorney instead of being someone who “could have stayed home and baked cookies.” Her role in the health care reform effort was criticized as Democrats were routed in the 1994 elections. Establishing herself in the Senate, Clinton lost to Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary but has become one of the most admired women in the world, watching her popularity grow as Obama’s secretary of state.

The documents provide more details about the concerns in her own camp about how she was perceived by the public. …

That thing has never had a moral compass.

It’s never surprised me that she and Bill hooked up to form their criminal enterprise.

NBC Saturday Today just did several minutes on this and mostly focused on the failed healthcare program but did touch on the proposed softening. Showed a quick clip of her recently, she doesn’t look good.

Good luck trying to soften that image when the whole Whitewater debacle is dug up again in 2016....

What they see as “stern” is really arrogance. I guess her people are learning they can’t airbrush her 24/7. Something will give before this is all over.

Her bizarre appearance and changing hairdos have always signaled her inner confusion. That and her truly horrible speaking voice which she has never bothered to work on. How did horseface Mandy Grunwald not notice the screech in that voice?

Have never seen her Watergate “credentials” listed before. If Dems could go back to when Mitt Romney was a 15 yr. old high school student to accuse him of bullying, surely this tidbit from Hillary’s rancid resume could be used in campaign ads against her.

It won’t impede her from winning the Dems nomination, of course, because all these gross character flaws will only enhance her qualifications as standard bearer for that corrupt party.

No one can humanize the inhuman Hildabeast.

“...she and Bill hooked up to form their criminal enterprise.”

So true. When the ink was dry on their marriage license, they should have been subject to the RICO law.

Never happen. The corrupt American media will jump in, as they did with Romney, and hastily advise the Republican candidate that he or she is impolite for saying negative things. The Republicans will cave. After all, the Republican candidate, at best, will have been a governor, senator, or representative. SHE, on the other hand, has been secretary of state. "And o' course, dear boy, you just simply can't bring the Benghazi thing in to play. After all, she was under a great deal o' stress when she got that ole boy raped and killed."

If you were married to Slick, would *you* care what you looked like?

Maybe that was her plan, all along.

She might take a bath in Snuggles fabric softener ...that’s the ticket! Once dry, she would spray herself with Wrinkles Away
