Renewable Energy in Decline

The global energy outlook has changed radically in just six years. President Obama was elected in 2008 by voters who believed we were running out of oil and gas, that climate change needed to be halted, and that renewables were the energy source of the near future. But an unexpected transformation of energy markets and politics may instead make 2014 the year of peak renewables.

Ruh Roo. I could have sworn that the demokkkrats were waging a war on climate change. Let's add some new tech nukes in to the mix too. As far as windmills, has there been a conclusive study done with regards to the disruption of the natural flow of the wind due to these monstrosities and what the consequences of the disruptions may be? Solar panels? Well we know they work pretty good for avian frickasee south of Vegas. Of course the greenees get a pass for slaughtering wildlife. ESA be damned if it stands in the way of green tech. New tesla battery plant in Tx, NM, Az or Nv? I'm sure the epa and any required EIS hurdles will be cleared without much problem. Disposing of hazardous waste by the plant. No problem. There's plenty of federally held land in those 4 states and a free pass will probably be give to elon musky absolving him and tesla of any wrong doing for any pollution issues.

I find it incredibly ironic that oil and gas from fracking (which the Dems fervently oppose) is the only thing that has kept the economy from being even worse than it is.

Wind has proved a bust, by en large. For Bio Obama turned to Brazil.

What is keeping us afloat and peaking is Natural Gas and Oil from fracking not renewables.

It would be nice if renewables would be more in the picture but their not producing over fracking and may never be to that level.

I know. Thank goodness we’ve turned the corner and the recovery is being accelerated at an unbelievable rate huh? Oops. Not so much.

Did you happen to notice the 40% corn to ethanol production part? I guess grocery prices will necessarily skyrocket too huh? Which of course they have. Let’s see 40% less crop available for food/feed=higher burger prices. And a bunch more.

Renewable Energy in Decline

That's because it is and always has been nonsense!

As soon as any of these erroneously categorized "renewable energy" sources become economically competitive they will flood this cutthroat energy market. Until then they are only niche market items which have no place in national energy supply concerns.

Oh yeah, that's doing a good bit to hurt the poor and our economy.

If the GOP takes the Senate and hold the House this year, a priority after of course gutting Obamacare, should be to end the endless subsidies for renewable energy. Without government subsidies the ethanol boondoggle will collapse, the forests of windmills that blight the countryside will be be scrapped and solar panels will become simply eyesores. One problem is that farm state GOP members of Congress have become the harlots of the ethanol lobby.

Crony capitalism is planted deeply on both sides of the political aisle for sure.

“In 2009, the ideology of Climatism, the belief that humans were causing dangerous global warming, came under serious attack.”

“Climatism” I like it. Turns the whole GW Hoax into a dogma and makes it sound as sinister as it is.

Corn harvests have gone from less than from less than 65 million acres to more than 85 million acres.

Yield has gone from 100 bushels/acre to 160/bushels per acre in the same time.

So, is it a wash if 40% goes to ethanol production? If so, why the price rise/skyrocket?

Corn prices have fallen very close to or lower than the cost of production after a few years spike. That’s the way farming works.

There’s a world market for food. Check out the value of the dollar.

Just monitor non-farm area publications (NY Times, Washington Post, CNN, AP, etc) and bet the exact opposite!

Solar panels? Well we know they work pretty good for avian frickasee south of Vegas.

The avian fricassee was NOT caused by solar panels of the ordinary photo-voltaic kind, it was caused by solar mirrors.

Not that the rest of your point is not valid.
