That’s not exactly a surprise. What would be a surprise is if the Tatars knuckle under. The Crimea was easy pickings for Putin. We’re no where near the end game though.

One of the promises Yanukovitch campaigned on in 2010 was the idea of allowing regional discretion in the official languages used, which was something the Tartars and other regional minorities wanted. In comparison one of the first things the puppet government in Kiev did after seizing Parliament was pass a law making Ukrainian the only official language.

I agree. I worked with the Ukrainian Army in Iraq. All that I met, hated the Russians.
