IRS Officials Created a New Entitlement Program, Because They Felt Like It

Over at DarwinsFool.com, I summarize a lengthy report issued by two congressional committees on how the Treasury Department, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Health and Human Services conspired to create a new entitlement program that is authorized nowhere in federal law. Here’s an excerpt in which I summarize the summary:

Here is what seven key Treasury and IRS officials told investigators.

In early 2011, Treasury and IRS officials realized they had a problem. They unanimously believed Congress had intended to authorize certain taxes and subsidies in all states, whether or not a state opted to establish a health insurance “exchange” under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. At the same time, agency officials recognized: (1) the PPACA plainly does not allow those taxes and subsidies in non-establishing states; (2) the law’s legislative history offers no support for their theory that Congress intended to allow them in non-establishing states; and (3) Congress had not given the agencies authority to treat non-establishing states the same as establishing states.

Nevertheless, agency officials agreed, again with apparent unanimity, to impose those taxes and dispense those subsidies in states with federal Exchanges, the undisputed plain meaning of the PPACA notwithstanding. Treasury, IRS, and HHS officials simply rewrote the law to create a new, unauthorized entitlement program whose cost “may exceed $500 billion dollars over 10 years.” (My own estimate puts the 10-year cost closer to $700 billion.)

The full post includes details some pretty stunning examples of how agency officials were derelict in their duty to execute faithfully the laws Congress enacts.

“They unanimously believed Congress had intended...”

So why not go to Congress to clear it up?

What can the citizenry do when those we charge with enforcing law — break the law?

The US, its people and its Government has not been truly tested for many years on the role of government, or what being a Constitutional Republic really means for the citizens of this country.

The path has been smoothed by the Post WWII dominance of the US military, and in particular the dominance of the US Dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Those advantages have allowed the US Government to be especially profligate, to grow in power and arrogance, and the US Federal Reserve to support that profligacy, without many very serious consequences being seen. I have no idea how much longer it can continue.

The IRS is corrupt and should not be in charge
of giving Americans’ medical records to PROVEN
criminal illegals and foreign operatives,
NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY WAS CHANNELED
TO THE DNC AND WHITE HOUSE.

Because without the subsidies, a huge number of people would be exempt from the individual mandate because their new premiums (under new Obamacare rules) would exceed 8% of their income.

The whole Obamacare would be toast (well, faster toast) without the subsidies.

None of this is sustainable.

"None of this is sustainable."

That's the whole idea.. Can't impose Martial Law without a manufactured crisis beforehand.

We're talking about matters of Law here, what on Earth would Congress have to do with it?

There are three possible avenues.

Congress can impeach, remove, and refer the guilty to a compromised judicial system. This would feel good but would leave a corrupted system in place.

States can convene an Article V state amendment convention to retrieve stolen powers. Best avenue.

Citizens may revisit 1775, and implement less than peaceful means to redress grievances. Bad idea. Revolutions have a habit of getting out of hand.

Why not, all you need is a pen and a phone, and Obama has both of those so he can do whatever he wants. Neither the Congress or the Courts will do anything about it. Only the voters can turn this around. What are the chances that they will?

Too messy. Perhaps you’re unfamiliar with the reins of power. Bureaucrats, who couldn’t make it in a competitive marketplace, never relinquish power willingly and always crave more.

Another example of Obama "weaponizing" a US agency under his control.

The Obamacare collaborators have their greedy hands on all that untraceable healthcare income.....fees, penalties, charges*....in league w/ the punitive IRS. Obamacare's a con artist's dream---the thieves can withdraw funds from enrollees' bank accounts, at will.

THIS MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD Lock-stepping Dims kept harping on the need for O/Care----they whined about the "poor uninsured" having to make the choice between eating and healthcare. Now, thanks to the Godzillian monster O/Care, they no longer have to worry about choice. Obama fixed it so that it will always be Obama Care, first, last, and always.

=========================================

* So much money has NOT been accounted for----

<><> the millions paid to CGI for the botched rollout,

<><> mad scientist Ezekiel Emanuel (Rahm's bro) got a BILLION dollars to design this boondoggle,

<><> botched state exchanges got millions and millions, then failed to enroll people.

=====================================================

Everything about Obama is a fraud......as far back as 2008, he duped Americans into believing in the healthcare- destroyer known as Obamacare. Five years in the making and Obama still cannot control the Godzillian monster he created---- rampaging over our healthcare system. The damage being done is palpable.

======================================================

INCONVENIENT FACTOID---Ohaha was spawned from the viper pit of Chicago criminal politics---our WH is/was infested w/ Chicago criminals---these lowlifes never never met a decent, honest person in their entire lives.

BTW, Mayor Daley's former chief of staff, Valerie Jarrett, hired Obama's wife, Michelle, to work in Chicago City Hall. (Jarret is now ensconced in Washington, as Obama's chief policy advisor----in gangland vernacular, chief policy advisor means "wire-transfer artist").

CON ARTISTS IN ACTION Shortly after quitting his powerful WH job as Obama's COS, Rahm held a presser declaring he "just remembered" he really, Really wanted to be Mayor of Chicago. Then Rahm announced he had magically "raised" $10 million in "just a matter of weeks." (waiting for hysterical laughter to die down). Ya gotta wonder how much Wall Street Rahm wired offshore when Obama put him in charge of the entire US Treasury. Read on.

CONNECTING THE DOTS: Obama's stranglehold on Treasury via COS Rahm Emanuel's dual role

THE TARGETING PAPER TRAIL BEGINS: Soon as they occupied the WH, Obama and the Chicago con artists (a) took control of the US Census; (b) Obama placed his COS Rahm Emanuel in control of the US Dept of the Treasury (the IRS).

THE SMOKING GUN---WSJ REPORT--On Jan 20, 2009 Timothy Geithner was appointed Obama's Secy of the Treasury. But within three weeks, the Obama White House tightened its grip on Treasury. Obama put his COS, Rahm Emanuel, in charge of Treasury---Rahm Emanuel's dual role was an unusual move.

When he got to Treasury, WH COS Rahm Emanuel was so involved in the inner workings of the Treasury that the phrase "Rahm wants it" had become an unofficial mantra among subservient govt staffers, prostrate in obeisance, scurrying to accede to Rahm's wishes, according to Treasury government officials. Reported by WSJ / 05/31/09

The full story details stunning examples of IRS officials failing to execute faithfully the laws Congress enacts.

Primary reason why Obama and Holder get constipated at the thought of US laws being enforced. It is an article of faith in Holder/Obama's "hood" that all US rules, regs, laws, are discriminatory---enacted and structured by evil white men in power---to subjugate the underclass, the ne'er do wells, "the underserved" (to use Obama's fave word).

============================================

It is rather interesting that some slavishly liberal Dems are now inching away---holding back support. Looks like the jerkoffs learned a hard lesson from the O/Care debacle (snix).

When Demorats marched smartly together for O/Care---passing it by an historic straight party-line vote---- post-war America had not seen such lock-stepping party loyalty, and obeisance to their party's leader, since 1930-40s era Europe.
