He’s wasn’t a president, he was the prime minister of a parliament who can be removed by a vote. And he was. He fled to avoid prosecution for his involvement in the death of protesters.
Stop parroting Soviet Life and Vlad Posner’s crap.
No! Send Al Sharpton!
That wasn’t a coup. The president tried to take an extra term, which is forbidden by the constitution, and the judges ruled him invalid.
Seems to me legitimacy is determined from the barrel of a gun...The American Army in 1776 was not legit either...You are arguing semantics while freedom languishes...
Russia has plenty of experience with revolution. They seldom lead to a liberal democracy. History shows us they all too often end up in a different and more brutal form of tyranny. The democratic West makes light of it but for Russia its not an abstract history lesson.
That is exactly why this crisis has become more dangerous. And the danger will not lessen whether or not Russia refrains from further intervention in the future. Ukraine is a facing a situation from which no one benefits. We would all like a peaceful outcome to the current crisis. Which does not seem possible at the moment.
The Ukraine has the 21st strongest military in the world. No nuclear weapons and a limited navy, but still if this escalates beyond Crimea, it could get bloody for both sides very quickly. http://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=Ukraine

Obama tells Putin if you like Ukraine you can keep Ukraine
I see you are a Putin apologist. That is what I see.
The army is divided down the middle like the country. Half of it simply will not fight Russia.
Ukrainian nationalists are living in a fantasy world where they pretend they don’t have to take Russian interests into account.
And Moscow has demonstrated very clearly it can take the country apart piece by piece by piece if they don’t play ball. The reality of the relationship between Moscow and Kiev has yet to sink in with Kiev’s new rulers.
Obama stood by the ousted president of Honduras, so why doesn't he stand by this ousted president?
Exactly my point. Notice the “exclamation” points. ;-)
