Police on Sunday arrested around 200 people who strapped themselves to the White House fence to protest the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline.
The protesters were mostly college students who participated in a peaceful march that began at Georgetown University and ended outside the White House.
The marchers chanted climate justice now and carried signs such as dont tarnish the Earth in their efforts to convince President Barack Obama to reject the pipeline. They say it will contribute to global warming.

Stuck on stupid.
True stupidity on display ....
A lot of garbage on the street.
Didn’t the Israeli government use a bulldozer against a member of the Kumbaya crowd not long ago?
Just leave them strapped to the fence for week or two.
Shoulda left ‘em there and waited for more snow & frigid weather...
The same useful dupes who marched against nuclear
weapons, nuclear power, and save the whales.
Maybe I shouldn’t say the same, these are their
Unless their tarps, skeleton suits and synthetic clothes are woven from unicorn hair I think they’re kinda invested in oil.
Result of education.
Students in Eastern Eu figured who or what was the problem - commieterror and protested it.
Students in US are blinded by drugs and lib brainwashing.
“The protesters were mostly college students...”
Ladies and gentlemen, the youth of America. Drinking the liberal kool-aid in copious quantities.
This generation has been totally brainwashed. In fact, I’d call them a bunch of knuckleheads who will vote Dem no matter what.
Wouldn’t it be funny if we just left them strapped to that fence? For at least an overnight. I bet that would be the last time they ever do that again.
And they chanted, “I’m glad I are a college student.”
And tonight’s weather would be absolutely perfect for a night of camping and sining, “kumbaya”
Weather forecast for tonight:
Rain. Sleet and freezing rain in the evening...
freezing rain and snow after midnight.
Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.
Ice accumulation of up to a tenth of an inch.
Cold with lows in the lower 20s.
North winds 10 to 15 mph.
Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
To think that their parents are insane enough such that they pay $60,000+ per year to send these naive fools to Georgetown.
They should have just hosed them down with cold soapy water, then barricaded them in so they could not leave. In the night the cold weather would have done what needed to be done.
That is how you get rid of crappy starlings.
Russia might do something like that, just leave the kids out there to boldly face Mother Nature, or they may go to the other extreme and get aggressive. Did you hear what some Ukrainian “police” did to some young Russians last week? The young Russians HAD THEIR LIPS STICTHED SHUT WITH BOOTLACES.
Can you imagine if that was even discussed here, let along done and bragged about? There are still vast differences between the U.S. and Russia (soon to be re-named the New United Soviet Russia).
12” of snow in Washington D.C. tomorrow....
Here in Kentucky, we sure could use some global warming right now.
Handcuff all of them to the fence and starve them to death.
WOW! All those kids walked all the way to Washington to make their voices heard. I mean, it wouldn’t make any sense to take advantage of the same energy source you’re protesting (fossil fuel). That might be viewed as hypocritical. Or maybe they thought that the fossil fuel that was used to create the tarps and cardboard signs and paint used on the signs etc. were a “necessary evil”, but everybody else’s use of the same energy source bespeaks a lack of respect for the environment. Yeh, that’s gotta be it...
Hose them with oil.
My simple motto, although difficult at times, serves me well.
Idiots are best ignored.
Where’s a steamroller when you need it.
That’s so 60ish. Kiddies, you’re living in the old analogue age of Bill and Hillary. Wake up! This is the new digital age of computers and the Internet (remember Al Gore invented it and Global Warming, then Global Climate Change). You don’t have to assemble at the college and walk to the Whitehouse in nasty weather. You can sit at your computer in your parents basement and stay warm (another by-product of that nasty petroleum) and protest all you want. Hell, you can even order a pizza while you protest. Maybe even work in that order for the latest designer clothes and matching shoes you just have to have (more nasty petroleum by-products). Just spam the Whitehouse and see if anybody there gives a damn.
For a bunch of college students, you guys act like liberal socialist activists or something from the past. After all, as somebody once said, “what difference does it make”. You’ve got food, designer clothes and shoes, a nice warm basement, medical insurance until you’re 26, an iphone or ipod, and your mom and dad are rich.
We, the working-class peons, professional grunts, and other slaves of the workforce want thank for your concerns. We would be protesting too, but we are very busy working multiple part-time jobs and barely surviving this great economic prosperity created by the Whitehouse.
Keep up the good work, a**holes. Hurry up and get that degree. We eagerly await your participation. We need new blood.
They should have electrified the fence.
All defaulting on their student loan debt, undoubtedly... as being a barrista just doesn’t cut it.
Next big bailout will be student loan debt related.
"Watermellons"... Green on the outside... Red on the inside.
I only wish they were all "seedless".
With quite a bit of press / photographers, I see.
Where was the press at the “Million Bike Run”, last Tea Party march, last 2nd Amendment rally, etc.?
