Skip to comments.Inside Politics: Will CPAC be the launch of Cruz 2016?

Some advice truly is timeless. Some elections are extra special. Jeb Bush is looking hard at 2016, but many close to him have doubts. If you keep saying something over and over again and you are Joe Biden, does that make it true? And can "severely conservative" be topped?
Here are five takeaways from this Sundays Inside Politics:
1. Coaching Hillary: As she geared up to run for Senate, Hillary Clinton received some advice from media consultant Mandy Grunwald.
"Don't be defensive. Look like you want the questions," Grunwald wrote in a memo to the first lady that was included in the more than 3,500 pages of Clinton White House documents made public Friday.
She also added that Clinton should "look for opportunities for humor" and told her "don't use the Administration's record as her own."
It was the summer of 1999, and Clinton was making the transition from first lady to political candidate - one of her many evolutions. She won that Senate race, ran for president in 2008 and then served as secretary of state in the administration of the man who bested her for the Democratic nomination.
As she ponders a 2016 run, could that 1999 Grunwald memo be recycled?(continued)

CPAC? Not enough living hands and foreheads on the planet right now for the necessary facepalms . . .
Just one suggestion Ted, please mellow out on the “repeal Obamacare” talk.
We can change it. Dramatically if necessary.
But don’t use “repeal Obamacare” as a policy position. Please. Amend it, but don’t run against it completely.
Just saying... With you 100% otherwise. And Palin as well.
Thats right Cringing Why would we want to run on repealing maybe the most unpopular, destructive law in the history of earth? You make a great point.
Good to see you posting. Post more.
“We can change it. Dramatically if necessary”
We can also drive a stake in its heart, set it on fire and then nuke it from orbit.
Obamacare is like a zombie.
If you don’t shoot the zombie in the head, zombie get you.
You sound like GOP talking points (crafted by Karl Rove)....and after all the hell obamacare has caused (and will cause in the future). Such talking points come off as crass, uncaring, and TONE DEAF.
“You sound like GOP talking points (crafted by Karl Rove)...”
The GOPe speaks!!
I have no interest in the GOPe.
However, I find myself at odds with Ted Cruz on this one matter.
It is a doozie however, and I really cannot rail on him about it, because a certain webmaster (as in here) is also on everyone else’s side.
I am it seems alone in this. As such I only say, please don’t forget it is possible for someone to disagree on one issue.
This is my issue. I do not agree. But I’m just saying it to keep the possibility open, that we can find a compromise on this.
Isn’t the CPAC happening in just a few weeks? Its way too soon for any hat being thrown in any ring. If he is running he should wait till next year.
Cruz needs to be Senate Majority leader. I’ll take Allen West for President.
Why should we compromise?
I think I had better stop now.
Please just keep what I said in mind however, ok?
I’m off this thread now. Back to everyone, excuse me. :D
Mellow out? Surely you jest. It is a major issue as is jobs.
Is my memory wrong, or did you once voice approval of Obamacare?
Yep, found the answer to my own question.
Ill take Allen West for President.
Be still, my heart! That man is incredible. The Rats and the GOPe would never recover from having West, a real man, in their faces.
