De Blasio’s anti-rich policies are driving wealthy people out of NYC
The New York Post ^ | March 2, 2014 | Michael Goodwin

Money — it’s the root of all evil. Behind every great fortune lies a great crime. Or at least an unfair advantage.

That’s the gist of the liberals’ creed and justification for their war on wealth. The other half of their view holds that the poor are innocent victims of life’s rigged game.

Their narrative of evil winners and noble losers clears the way for self-heroic redeemers. They will deliver social justice by meting out punishment and spreading the wealth around. Their virtue entitles them to power.

It sounds like a comic-book view of life, but it’s the reality of liberalism today. And thanks to the de Blasio administration, New Yorkers are getting a bitter taste of its divisive nature. So much so that talk about quitting Gotham is surging in some circles.

One friend says 10 wealthy people have told him they are leaving and another says disgusted New Yorkers bought $1 billion in residential property in Florida since the November election. The Sunshine State confers an automatic tax cut of about 12 percent because it has no city or state income tax, nor does it have an inheritance tax....

Rich NYC libs feel threatened in the DeBlasio era and hate paying taxes so they move to Palm Beach country.

Billy Joel was only 3 years off....

You know those lights were bright on Broadway
That was so many years ago
Before we all lived here in Florida
Before the Mafia took over Mexico
There are not many who remember
They say a handful still survive
To tell the world about
The way the lights went out
And keep the memory alive

Well, De Blasio was overwhelming elected by NY’ers, so I only feel sympathy for those voters who saw him for what he is. Any one who cast a ballot for that fool deserves what they are getting now and can get stuffed, as far as I am concerned.

The bad part for the rest of us is, those folks fleeing to Florida are likely to retain their liberal ways when they finish relocated, further pushing one reliably red Florida further into Purplish Blue.

*sigh*

Because they’re stupid idiots who prefer tax increases, just not on themselves.

The only wealthy who still live in NYC after all the other tax-and-rob schemes of Democrats are either liberals themselves or simply too stupid to be trusted with vast sums of money. Anyone wealthy and intelligent already fled New York a long time ago. Some parts of California are almost the same situation.

>Money — it’s the root of all evil.<

.
Dumbass NYT, if you are going to quote scripture, at least do it correctly.

It is ‘the LOVE of money is the root of all evil.’

Money — it’s the root of all evil.

But leftist-socialists have no problem with stealing and coveting.

This is the biggets myth of all. Di Blasio is not anti-rich. He is totally devoted to making New York City serve his ultra-rich cronies. Everything he does is to that end.

I guess the South is about to experience the second wave of carpetbaggers from the north. They have fouled their nest and now have decided to move south and foul ours with their silly ideas. Each southern state needs its own border patrols to keep out the plague carriers.

If you’re rich, you can pretty much live anywhere.

So, if rich people are living in New York City, there must be a reason - fine restaurants, nightlife, Broadway, museums, etc.

The question is how much they’re willing to keep paying for all that. Cheaper to live elsewhere and only visit NYC .... once the rich start realizing that, NYC is really screwed ....
