"The government has decided in order to clean up Mount Everest, each member of an expedition must bring back at least eight kilos of garbage, apart from their own trash," he said... Decades of mountaineering have taken a toll on the peak, which is strewn with rubbish from past expeditions, including oxygen cylinders, human waste and even climbers' bodies, which do not decompose in the extreme cold.

About time they get serious about the mountain of trash. All those enviros have turned it into a garbage dump.

Ok, I'll bring down one head, a foot and a hand.

Are they going to make them bring their dead down from the mountain as well?

The big question is, how many pitons does it take to hold up a 4-cubic yard commercial trash bin?

Make them bring parachutes to attach to the bodies and have them throw the frozen corpses off the mountain.

They should have done this years ago, and made it mandatory that no trash be left on the mountain at all...............

Yeah the climbers lean pretty heavily toward environmentalism and global warmism so its time to make them live up to their own ideals.

I pick up other people’s trash in the woods if I see it.

Millenia from now, anthropologists will be writing tomes describing the ancient Nepalese religious site that attracted adherents from all over the world to offer sacrifice at the top of the mountain.

Like ordering a drowning man to clean up the ocean floor. Not that I don’t despise the enviro posers, but a lot of climbers are barely able to haul their own carcasses down the mountain as it is. Unintended consequences.

We have a ‘Clean the Beaches / Coastal Cleanup Day’ day here in NW Florida every year, toward the end of tourist season. Tons of trash are picked up.................

Then they shouldn’t climb at all.

Isn’t a climber’s cadaver located about halfway up the summit that’s been there since 1927? Like new except every bone in its body is broken, IIRC.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they organized the illegal immigrants into crews (chain gangs) to clean up the trash they left when they arrived, and then make them carry the trash back into Mexico as they are deported.
