Don't listen to Obama's Ukraine critics: he's not 'losing' – and it's not his fight
UK GUARDIAN ^ | 3-32014 | Micheal Cohen

In the days since Vladimir Putin sent Russian troops into the Crimea, it has been amateur hour back in Washington.

I don’t mean Barack Obama. He’s doing pretty much everything he can, with what are a very limited set of policy options at his disposal. No, I’m talking about the people who won’t stop weighing in on Obama’s lack of “action” in the Ukraine. Indeed, the sea of foreign policy punditry – already shark-infested – has reached new lows in fear-mongering, exaggerated doom-saying and a stunning inability to place global events in any rational historical context.

This would be a useful moment for Americans to have informed reporters, scholars and leaders explaining a crisis rapidly unfolding half a world away. Instead, we’ve already got all the usual suspect arguments:

True. Some have compared this to Hitler taking the Sudetenland, which I believe is the incorrect analogy, the Rhineland is a more fitting one.

There isn’t much to be accomplished by Ukraine trying to fight the Russian Military toe to toe. But if I had been the guy in charge, as soon as I knew what Putin was up to, I would have unleashed all the military assets at my command to destroy the oil and gas assets in Crimea and made ports unusable. I wonder what the pajama boy at the UK Guardian would have said to THAT!

Twenty years on, and the left still can’t pull its lips off the rotting buttocks of the Soviet Union.

At this point, what difference does it make?? /s

Missing from this “analysis” about how Obama should respond is why Obama should respond. After all, the US has few strategic interests in the former Soviet Union and little ability to affect Russian decision-making.

The "Chamberlain" gambit.

I’ve decided to recycle a bit of liberal cant from Gulf War I: 0bama’s weakness “gave the green light to invasion.” But yeah, it’s pretty clear that the talking points are out and the MSM are circling the wagons. It’s actually pretty funny.

Actually, the problem isn’t that Obama isn’t doing anything.

It’s that he’s threatened serious consequences and most likely has no intention of following through, and most people know it. The bad guys certainly know it.

If you’re not prepared to be tough, just don’t comment.

I doubt most Americans would want to much as one US soldier to sprain a pinky over this. Whether that’s wise or not, I can’t say. But I don’t think there’s a groundswell for decisive action.

So simply don’t talk like you’re ready to get tough.

I suspect the kenyan or his people fomented the rebellion as part of their worldwide national destabilization efforts. I don’t think he can be faulted for “lack of action.” It were better did he not take any action at all.

There isn’t an anti-Semitic bone in my body. In fact, my Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, the Second Person of The Holy Trinity is a Jew. But the moment I began to read that bootlicking tripe I said to myself, “This had to have been written by a backslid, reprobate Jew. That sniveling little twerp isn’t qualified to walk on the same ground as the likes of Benyamin Netanyahu.....a REAL Jew!

As far as the Crimean bases are concerned, I'd say we have no more business telling the Russians to give them up than the Russians would have telling us to give up Guantanamo.

Ukraine, however, is a different matter. The Ukrainians still remember the Holodomor, and want no part of Russia.

Revelation 13 describes a beast which has multiple heads, which will arise in the last days, and one of the heads has a deadly wound that is healed, and the beast goes on to mislead the masses and wreak havoc.

When the USSR was broken up back in the 90s, I wondered if that might be the “deadly wound” to Russia, one of the heads of a beastly group out to destroy Israel. And now Putin’s apparent progress toward the reconstitution of much of the former USSR, is, to my mind, the beginning of the healing of that deadly wound. (Just putting some thoughts out in the open).

"Obama’s doing pretty much everything he can," with his remaining options.

After destroying America;s economy, our military and our standing in the world the only options he has left is pink lines and fairy dust. And he's using both liberally.

FUBO and the pink unicorn you rode in on.
