The Obama administration is preparing sanctions to punish Russia for its intervention in Ukraine and is “likely” to impose them, the State Department declared Monday.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that planning for sanctions has gone into overdrive following stepped up Russian interference in the Crimea region, including unconfirmed reports that Russia has given Ukrainian troops in the Crimea until 10 p.m. EST to surrender.
ADVERTISEMENT “At this point we're not just considering sanctions; given the actions Russia has taken it is likely that we will put those in place," Psaki said. "And we are preparing that right now.”
Psaki did not give any details on what sanctions the administration might impose, but Secretary of State John Kerry has said the U.S. could ban visas and freeze the assets of Russian officials.

I think you are all being too critical of Obama. Apparently you haven’t seen Obama striding to the press conference podium yesterday. He had that impressive John Wayne swagger, a little sissified, but still a significant warning to any evil doers out there.
And this morning he was photographed at his desk WITH HIS SLEEVES ROLLED UP. You can bet that these actions by our President will not go unnoticed.

Putin always gets a big laugh when he plays that as ring tone. 
Interesting that we’re just a couple of weeks short of the 1938 anniversary of Hitler invading Austria and annexing it to Nazi Germany. Much like Putin in the Crimean region of the Ukraine today who claims he is invading to protect ethnic Russians, Hitler claimed he did it to unite German speaking Austria with Germany. At the time, his aggression was met with only weak verbal protests—just like today. And we all know how that turned out. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it...
If you like your sanctions, you can keep your sanctions.
