"I AM RUSSIAN FROM ODESSA - and I will be defending my country - Ukraine with ARMS "

"I AM RUSSIAN FROM ODESSA - and I will be defending my country - Ukraine with ARMS "

It will be easy to kill Russians and Russians to kill us!

We speak the same language and we understand radio transmissions on the air - and it will be easy to kill Russians and Russians to kill us! Our armies, in fact, are armed with the same weapons and ammunition - it will be easy to kill each other!

It will be easy to kill Russians and Russians - us! Writes blogger endryx (Andrey Khartanovich):

This is me about the technical side of our death :

- We speak the same language and we understand radio transmissions on the air - and it will be easy to kill Russians and Russians to kill us!

- Our armies, in fact, are armed with the same weapons and ammunition - it will be easy to kill each other!

- We all learned to fight from the same training manuals - it will be easy to kill each other!

- Maps , documentation, manuals, etc. are actually in the same language - it will be easy to kill each other!

- It will be easy to interrogate and torture Russian prisoners of war, and for them torture us (no language problems)!

- It will be easy to kill Russians, and for themto kill us - we know the terrain and countryside where we will kill each other (I trecked with a lot of fellow Russians through the Crimean mountains) and 80% of my guests were Russians tourists!

- In the darkness, with poor coordination between units, the language factor and the similarity of uniforms and weapons will lead to confusion and it will be easy to kill, our own and Russians. And they will face the same situation (as the experience in Chechnya has shown).

- In the street fighting, locked in a melee, and cutting throats, we are both going to scream:"F..k your mother!" And dying, we both will call our MOM!

- Burying our dead will be equally easy for our funeral teams. And name plates with names of "enemies" and "our own" are in the same language. It will be important after the "victory" (whoever "won, shit!"), not to confuse, over which monument to place what flag (in the Russian army there are as many soldiers "Kovalenkos", as in Ukrainian - "Ivanovs"). As a person who was engaged in the reburial of our soldiers who died in World War II, I know how difficult is to recognize the bodies. In this war, it will be easy to bury dead - all will be OURS!!

I'm a Russian-speaking, Odessa historian, who wrote the script for the Russian TV "History of the Russian State," " Time of Victory" and " Battles of Moscow", I can not comprehend the phrase "Russian occupation troops in the Ukraine!"!

I CAN NOTTTTT!

But I remember, my service in the Special Forces of the USSR Army (near Moscow from 1989 to 1991) and I will ask for machine gun, so that being 43 yera old, I will go to defend my Ukraine from its Russian occupants! At the same time, I understand that I might meet the guys, with whom I served, or with which in the last summer I was touring-sightseeing and drank wine with them on the beach....

Russians, I will be defending from you the house of Pushkin in Odessa!

Russians, I will be defending from you the residence of Bunin, Tolstoy and Vorontsov palace, Potemkin Stairs and the monument to Catherine!! I will be defending the graves of my two grandfathers - war veterans (and the Black Sea Fleet sailor, and hero of Battle of Stalingrad). I will defend my grandmother - a war veteran, my wife - Russian Svetlana Ivanova, my three children and my mother and father!

Because I love it all!!! It's my motherland!!! I will defend it!! Pushkin, Vorontsov, Gorky, Shevchenko, Bunin, Bulgakov.... I will defend them all from you! You better realize that!! While I - still can not comprehemd it! My brain refuses to understand this!!

P.S. Of course I am not the same warrior. I, like many Ukrainian men who under the "Last stand of Slavs" will go tomorrow to battle, will probably return in "zinc can" and be burried in Odessa. I don't live inKamchatka, of which I had dreamed since childhood... I will not be at the wedding of my two princesses or marry my son Anton. I will not bury my parents... ((((

But I will defend my homeland - Ukraine, and I will be cursing you in RUSSIAN! Because I will not have time to learn to perfection my Ukrainian language - when Russian soldiers will kill me...

Russians, think, consider whether you want to easily kill the Ukrainians, and with patriotic enthusiasm, to bury yours and ours body's in the graves of their grandfathers ? ? ? ? ?

Translation from Russian. Russian speaking Ukrainians do not want to be part, nor slaves again of refurbished Soviet "Empire". Contrary to the propaganda and misinformation spread by Putinskies.

I understand what he is saying, but this shouldn't help him in any case.

We’ve some thick heads here who see Putin as some type of savior and a rather pleasant alternative to the idiot Obama. I only wish half of these people would try to understand that their sympathy and new found respect for President-for-Life Putin, the former KGB Colonel, is an affront to all things that real conservatives stand for if they understand what conservatism is about. We’re not champions of Putin’s Russian Imperialism. We’re not champions of Putin’s cronyism. We don’t support hostile takeovers of independent countries. We are not gullible to slick former communist propaganda.

Merkel is astonished, but this guy isn’t surprised, just disgusted.

As a former KGB, Putin is not phased by thoughts of civil war and desolation. It is up to the rest or the world to adjust to reality.

Putin has never done anything that affects my life, liberty, or my pursuit of happiness. I can not say the same about Obama. Putin is not trying to disarm me. Putin is not undermining my constitution. Putin is not weakening, nay destroying, this country. I don’t hive a damn about Putin and I wouldn’t lift a finger to stop him if he conquered all of Europe because I don’t give a damn about them anymore either.

If the Democrats want me to care about Ukraine, then they are going to have to convince me that they (the Democrats) care more about The United States than they care about the Democrat party.

Russian speaking Ukrainians do not want to be part, nor slaves again of refurbished Soviet "Empire".

More than 3 million ethnic Russians have re-identified as Ukrainians since 1991, according to this article. Putin may have a lot more than just ethnic Ukrainians to subdue.

You could say the exact same thing about Obama if you were a Russian.

Only in that case whatever life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that you still had would be completely at the mercies of Putin and his mafia state.

Your guns would have been confiscated long ago by Putin and his outright ban on handguns and any weapon that was not a hunting rifle.

You would not have any faith in the Russian Constitution at all, given that it is ignored with impunity whenever Putin and his cronies see fit.

Whatever attacks are being made on our natural rights here, just remember that we still have it a lot better than the Russians do.

An ethnic Ukrainian called Michael Savage today whose family lives in Kiev, and he agrees with Putin! He says Crimea and East Ukraine belongs in Russia, and that there should be a referendum to accomplish this. He also said he doesn't trust the E.U.

This chaotic difference of opinions is why I don't want the U.S. or NATO anywhere near this mess.

I tend to agree, there needs to be a divorce, you simply can’t have two peoples’ bitterly opposed to each other living under the same roof....The Czechs and Slovaks did it peacefully, the Yugoslavs.....not so much.

The Russians made their bed and now they sleep in it. If they have a problem with it, they should remake it. It’s their affair. It’s none of my concern. My only concern is resisting any attempts to have our bed made in a similar fashion over here. The entire world could erupt into war around me and I will yet remain keenly focused on opposing any and all threats to my liberty and my constitution. I have twice sworn an oath to defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I never swore an oath to defend the Ukraine against Vladmir Putin. And if our military leaders can’t manage to grasp that concept they deserve to have their budgets slashed AFAIC.

This guy is full of bravado now. When his entire world is exploding and in flames, he may sing a different tune. I'm certainly no expert, but from my understanding of history, logistics and manpower usually wins (e.g. the American Civil War). Russia certainly has that in spades over Ukraine.

The Ukraine doesn't have the geographic advantage that Russia had during WW II where they could trade space for time by retreating. If Russia invades, I suspect it's do or die for Ukraine. I don't see the EU jumping in, not after the experience they had in 1914 and 1939, but hey - what do I know.

Another way of looking at it is whether Putin wants to risk another Afghanistan. If I'm wrong about Ukraine's ability and will to resist (very possible), and Russia's invasion gets bogged down, that resurrects a lot of ghosts from 1979.

You are talking different nations in Czecho-Slovakia, and in “Yugoslavia”
There is no “Ukrainian Ukraine” and “Russian Ukraine”
There is sovereign Ukraine that was occupied by Soviets, gained independence and now was tried by Yanukovych to be thrown back and sold to Putin . Freedom loving people of Ukraine peacefully protested this, only to by shut by snipers.
Time to distinguish between commie propaganda and reality of oppressed people of Ukraine, whatever speaking.

Down through the years - many of then as a “cold warrior” - I often found myself wondering if perhaps the old Soviet “Politburo” might have been the most conservative of all institutions(?) (They were certainly not libertarian, however!)
