MSNBC's Maddow: G.W. Bush Is to Blame for Ukraine Crisis
newsmax.com ^ | March 03, 2014 | Cathy Burke

Posted on 03/03/2014 4:03:23 PM PST by Tailgunner Joe

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow charged Monday that the George W. Bush administration's Middle East policy has steered America's current security policy and response to global crises — including the one in Ukraine.

Talking about her new documentary, "Why We Did It," involving circumstances leading to the Iraq War, Maddow told MSNBC colleague Andrea Mitchell that the Bush administration is largely responsible for the nation's current course overseas.

“The decisions of our generation on national security are determined more than anything by what the George W. Bush administration did with that nine-year war in Iraq and, alongside it, a 13-year war in Afghanistan that’s still going on," she told Mitchell. "And the American people are against those wars."

“Those are the determinative constraints for our thinking about everything,” she continued, “from Crimea, to Syria, to what the overall size of the U.S. military is.”

Maddow said her documentary concludes that if the United States is to avoid "these kind of protracted foreign occupations, like we did under the previous president, we can’t effectively make good decisions about that until we understand why we did that."

"We know the public case for why we went to Iraq was not true," Maddow said, adding that her findings for the documentary were "disturbing."

"It's getting at the question that needs to be answered," she said.

Mitchell, agreeing with Maddow's premise, noted that the Bush administration's policies impacted "every other decision we make — why the president decided not to go ahead with airstrikes against Bashar al-Assad on Labor Day weekend.”

So, it's official: Maddow is disturbed.

Bush has been out of office for six years; yet we’re informed he’s still responsible for anything bad happening, anywhere in the solar system. Meanwhile, we’re given to believe that Clinton was in no way responsible, for an event that took place less than 8 months after he left office.

It was under Obama that our military sustained three massive rounds of "10 year" cuts:

1. $330 billion in 2009 to help pay for his "stimulus"

2. $487 billion in 2012

3. $650 billion in 2013 with sequestration

All these cuts have now overlapped. These were deep, real cuts, and today the military is living, or more aptly, dying by them.

After 5 years either Obama is incompetent or embraced the “Bush Doctrine” which she attempts to describe. Maddow, a Rhodes Scholar in BS artistry (Hard Sciences or bust) still has an adolescent crush on (Synthetic) “donkeys” which affects her reasoning skills.

Guess I am an idiot too. If you recall, Bush looked into Putins eyes, saw his soul was good and pronounced him mr nice guy. He took the first “we love you” steps. Not that Obama,Hillary and Horse face aren’t culpable morons because they are and are equally responsible. Bush however was the first Moron when it came to Putin. if you remember, Bush also did nothing when Putin went into Georgia.

The three people that watch MSNBC resent you for calling them loons...lol

Speaking of propaganda, I love the fact that Maddow is going to do a documentary on GWB’s foreign policy. I'm safe in guessing what her conclusion will be.

This is MSNBC trying to bail out their village idiot, again

There was a best-selling novel published December 3 in which a Putin-like character invades Ukraine, and Russia is defeated by American black ops. If anyone is responsible for the revolution and invasion, it is the booksellers who failed to put that book in the Fiction section.

I wonder if the little Maddow feller realizes that both of Obamugabes Secretaries of State endorsed, supported, and voted for both of those eeeevil Boosh wars.

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." -- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003
