Sarah Palin Was Right On Ukraine And Obama
Investor's Business Daily ^ | March 3, 2014 | IBD EDITORIALS

Posted on 03/03/2014 4:26:55 PM PST by raptor22

Arrogance: Mocked by late-night comedians and "experts" alike, Sarah Palin could see from her front porch that candidate Obama's response to Moscow's invasion of Georgia would encourage it also to invade Ukraine.

As the Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes notes in a tweet, administration officials told CNN's Barbara Starr that the arrival of officers of the 76th Chernihov Storm Troops Division and their dispersal across key choke points in Ukraine, including Crimea, wasn't an "invasion" but an "uncontested arrival."

Whatever this Russian version of an "overseas contingency operation" is called, it was foreseen as the inevitable consequence of electing a president who believed America was the last colonial power and whose withdrawal from the world stage would get rid of a major distraction to his fundamental transformation of America.

The Governor-candidate was mocked by Romney’s surrogates.

Has there been an apology, yet?

Hopefully this time Jim kills it dead from the get go.

Your comment is Democrap spin.

Here is the truth:

Bush was President during Russia's invasion of Georgia.

Bush proposed that NATO accept Georgia and Ukraine in the Spring of 2008.

NATO refused.

Russia "invaded" Georgia in the Summer.

Yeah, but did Sarah ever correct her nasal screech impediment.

As the House of Commons said about Maggie Thatcher..."the Lady doth screech too much..." Maggie fixed hers...and then won.

But Sarah hung on to her screech. Too busy to fix it.

After all, those who love her, loved her screech.

But of course, she never got elected.

But she got rich...and kept her screech.;-)

Have fun with this.

When you crow, what accent do you have?

Some of what you say could apply to almost every female politican or public speaker. Women need to avoid sounding shrill (that’s just a fact) when giving speeches. They can, and probably should learn to speak in a lower register.

However, Sarah has no “nasal screech impediment” — nor does she have a speech impediment. She does have a regional accent — an accent that sounds perfectly fine to me, as someone who lived next door to Alaska for decades, and spent a fair amount of time there.

Sarah’s speaking patterns have become part of her brand — you betcha!

I have a problem with the fact that she didn't polish her presentation.

She would be a great president but she has to get elected by a majority (not just by those who love her).

She has a nasal screech...can be overcome in a matter of days.

So, yeah, I wanted her to win...not hang on to the past.

How so?

She has a nasal screech. How is it immature for me to want her to win and kill the screech.

Many folks from America have some speech quality that prevents their acceptance by the majority. Is it immature to want Sarah to win the majority?

I await your mature explanation.

But of course, I am a conservative who you try to insult with the term liberal because you are blinded by your love of Sarah.

She could win, of course, but a little polish is required.

But you don't want that polish do you. You want to bask in your love of Sarah...to the exclusion of your love of country.

All Sarah had to do was adapt. Not lose her originality...just get rid of that nasal twang that made her sound so colloquial.

All she had to do was develop the quality of statesmanship.

We know she is original...but she would have had to represent the country (all of us) around the world.

I love Duck Dynasty...but Willie has no chance of becoming president unless he loses the Duck. Same for Sarah!

PDS? I have a better explanation, let’s call it the InTouch magazine Syndrome, or obsession with personalities and inability to focus on ideas.

Palin is a leader of ideas. Case in point: the Snowden case. As soon as it started, while everyone here and elsewhere focused on Snowden, hero or traitor, it was Palin who alone pointed out that this case is not about Snowden as about the government snooping on citizens and non-citizens as well. What this article and thread are about again is ideas, not personalities.

The PDS sufferers ought to just stick to their People magazine and Entertainment Tonight on the idiot box.

Easy solution. Don’t help liberals spread the asinine screech meme.

Hillary sounds like a banshee. Doesn’t hurt her electoral prospects. Explain that.

Leftists have no standards. They think Hillary is great because she is a Marxist.

Conservatives require a bit more.

If I am complaining, it is because I know Sarah could win and be a great president...but she has to polish the way she speaks.

Cheese and crackers.

It was required of Maggie Thatcher...why is it so wrong for Sarah?

She doesn't have to change noticeably...but develop a pattern of speech that matches her capability.

Yes, I know you love Sarah just as she is...but she can't get elected just as she is.

She is too much of a target for the Liberals.

She can overpower her enemies (which she must do)...it starts with developing a pattern of speaking that is true but still powerful.

The heart has no accent...it has only the truth.

Barney Fife might have had a spirit commensurate with that of Shakespeare. But it would have improved his chances immensely if he could have empowered his speech.

Sometimes that comes naturally (as it did with Churchill)...sometimes a little practice and training helps.

Takes more guts than you have demonstrated.

You just don't want the truth.

OK then lets look rightward. Explain how Lincoln and all pre radio/TV presidents got elected when most people never saw, much less heard them. Because ideas matter. And only a shallow idiot bases their vote on a voice.

What is this concern of yours about shallowness? Are you concerned that you might be shallow?

I want Sarah to get elected. How shallow is that?

You're just hoping for unicorns, rainbows and skittles...ain't gonna happen.

Sarah can win...but it's gonna take a change.

Your failure to see that might mean that you are the one who is shallow.

I don’t care how shallow or deep you are. That’s your business. But if you are going to help spread the same crap that led the fence sitters to fall onto the lib side, then don’t be surprised to get blowback.

Not sure why some people fixate on such stupidity when it’s ideas that matter. Not sure why some people seem intent to keep rehashing it either. But the stupid of it clearly burns.

Sorry, Norm. I'm just playing with you.

That said, Sarah's ideas are indeed right...but it only matters if she can get elected.

And that is gonna take a little adjustment on her part. Singers need training and so do speakers.

It won't take much, but she needs to bite the bullet and go for Prime Time...cause she's not quite ready for it.

As do I. I don’t think it’s a longshot though. Look at that poll 2DV or someone posted yesterday. 70% support.

May be an outlier but even if it were, it indicates more than a little support. And thats with her off trail and largely out of view...while the attacks from the left continue unabated.

I think we have reached the stage that many former non supporters would vote for her just out of spite for the GOP and the left.

I’d take that. Wouldn’t trust them but I’d take the votes to get her in the first time.
