So he can check in and check out 5 minutes later. Wow, that'll learn him.

Couch was 16 at the time of the accident. His blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit for an adult and there were traces of Valium in his system when he lost control of his pickup truck and plowed into a group of people helping a woman whose car had stalled. Seven passengers were riding in Couch’s truck. One, Sergio Molina, is paralyzed and can communicate only by blinking. The other, Solimon Mohmand, suffered numerous broken bones and internal injuries.

Y'all tell me again how great Texaa is?

Justice bought and paid for.
Little murderer out without and about to do it again.

There is so much wrong with this story.

The unremorseful little turd getting away with his actions that resulted in deaths. I saw some brief footage of him and it looked to me like self-assured smugness. What a piece of garbage.

What kind of legitimate facility charges $450,000 for rehab? None. Only a money-making machine.

I don’t think he can check out. The story is kind of screwed up. Who provided the alcohol and Valium? I’ve met people who killed people drunk diving. 20 years might had been merciful.

Just wrong on so many levels.

I understand that the juvenile justice system is geared towards rehabilitation rather than incarceration. That might be fine for the kid who does something stupid, but relatively harmless in the grand scheme of things. But not for a mass murderer, which is *exactly* what this little SOB is. He took four lives, and ruined a fifth (the man he paralyzed). He deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Judge Jean Boyd is not seeking re-election and that’s a shame because I would like to vote against her tomorrow.

Everyone is not equal. The life of this 'kid' is worth much more than those of the four people killed and one paralyzed. After all, this 'kid' comes from a wealthy family, while the others were from more normal means.

At least, that is what the so called 'Justice' System is saying in this case, and has been saying in many other cases.

A poor/average person speeding drunk - but not being in an accident - faces real jail time, while this 'kid' can destroy lives with no real punishment. A poor/average person caught with bags of weed and/or meth faces strong prospects of prison time, but a rich spoilt brat can have heroin and cocaine, and at most face rehab. A poor/average person may face a horrible time simply by video taping a police officer on a cellphone, but a rich person can shoot his wife outside a restaurant and nothing happens.

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Liberals believe in special treatment for their darlings: for the connected (especially Kennedys), for the rich (especially if they donate to liberal political campaigns), and for minorities. What they hate and fear most about decent Americans is that conservatives believe in far less government control over individuals, but we also believe that good laws should be enforced equally for all Americans.

Romans 12:19 New International Version (NIV)

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a] says the Lord.

This is the worst case of a lawyer coming up with just anything to get his client off. His lawyer should be disbarred immediately for malfeasance.

And when he breaks his probabtion, and we all know he will, what then? Usually when someone breaks their probation then they go back to prison to serve the remainder of their sentence. But there is no prison sentence in this case to impose. So do they send him back to rehab?

The "affluenza" defense sounded like a bad piece of satire, something that you'd read in The Onion or something like that.

We've come to the point where nobody is held responsible for his actions anymore. Rather, we have an upside down world where perpetrators are the victims of non-existent "mental illnesses" invented by their defense teams. As far as I'm concerned, a spoiled brat getting away with homicide with a trumped-up defense like "affluenza" is no different from minorities using "racism" as their excuse for their anti-social behavior.
