Couch was 16 at the time of the accident. His blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit for an adult and there were traces of Valium in his system when he lost control of his pickup truck and plowed into a group of people helping a woman whose car had stalled. Seven passengers were riding in Couchs truck. One, Sergio Molina, is paralyzed and can communicate only by blinking. The other, Solimon Mohmand, suffered numerous broken bones and internal injuries.

The great state of Texas isn’t to blame for this. I would sentence the judge and punk each a long hitch in prison for this..unless it was a carload of illegal invaders who were hit. That would change everything. Time served and invaders pay damages to the truck.
Texas is still great despite this case ruling. What ... This doesn’t happen in other states?

Texans don’t like the outcome any better but we have to live with it...and he will too. He and his parents are facing a life-time of civil suits. If he ever leaves Texas, your state, town, or neighborhood could be his next destination.
As I have said before, I love my state but this isn’t heaven down here. Texas still has the great spirit America once had, and even more...and some of its faults.
