A Columbus principal suspended a student for three days last week after the child pointed a "lookalike firearm” at another student in class and pretended to shoot.
The boy’s age? 10. The “level 2 lookalike firearm” cited in his suspension letter? His finger.
“I was just playing around,” said Nathan Entingh, a fifth-grader at Devonshire Alternative Elementary School in a far northern section of the district. “People play around like this a lot at my school.”
Other kids have been caught playing pretend gun games on the playground at Devonshire and weren’t suspended, Nathan said.
Devonshire Principal Patricia Price has warned students about pretend gun play numerous times this year, and everyone should know the rules by now, district spokesman Jeff Warner said. Nathan put his finger to the side of the other student’s head and pretended to shoot “kind of execution style,” Warner said.
“The kids were told, ‘If you don’t stop doing this type of stuff, there would be consequences,’” Warner said. “It’s just been escalating.” Warnings included three newsletters sent home with kids, he said.
The boy’s father, Paul Entingh, said no one felt threatened, and it’s the adults who are acting childish in their response to a typical 10-year-old’s misstep.

In child development studies, Erikson, et al, weaponry is part of normal sexual development for boys.
Thwarting that is a very very bad idea.
Moms are so Oprahfied, Oprah, who has no idea what she’s talking about, telling people they’re smart for following her cult, that they are emasculating their boys.
For every time this happens, they should be told to try to get a mom to tell her girl to stop wearing pink, orange, red, no red sparkle shoes, no dress up, no dolls.

Boys are not exhibiting violence, they exhibit defense form evil. and threats to their territory. They are hard wired for it by natural law.

I taught my dog Jack to do that after about five treats. I miss that little guy...
If I as a child were in high school now ... I would probably be summarily executed for the things my friends and I used to do. If I were in school now and I got suspended for what this kid did .. my dad or mom would go down to the school and knock this admin person on their ass.
That mind set needs to return. Suing a faceless bureaucrat and having the people pay the settlement thru taxes does exactly nothing to stop this idiocy.
Kids see this stupidity for what it is. If they are ANYTHING like I was or any of my contemporaries were ... they would delight in flouting the law and lose all respect for authority. Rules like this are counter-productive. They either turn kids into people who have NO respect for the law or good little autobots who have no spirit. Neither is good for them or society in general.
If he’d used his middle finger to disrespect a teacher or classmate, the liberal crowd who dismiss such child behavior as excusable because of ethnic norms or environmental status would be outraged if he was suspended.
As well they should. Boys grow into men, men vote Republican. Punish them in advance.
