NATO never put major facilities in the former USSR in deference to Russian sensibilities. Given Putin’s latest adventure, now is the proper to expand the NATO footprint in the Baltics and other eastern member areas. NATO must project power now. Projecting weakness now will be the of end of NATO as a credible deterrent. Putin will feel free to reassemble the USSR at his leisure.

The Baltic states are indefensible. It was a mistake to extend the Nato umbrella here. We would have to nuke them in order to save them.
