Posted on 03/04/2014 2:08:34 PM PST by bestintxas
Nationally syndicated conservative radio host Laura Ingraham said on Monday morning Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) should run for president. Ingrahams comments came after she played segments of Sessions keynote address, given at the Tea Party Patriots' five-year anniversary event last Thursday evening.
Jeff Sessions, we need Sessions for President, Ingraham said. Elaborating, she continued:
Really, is there anyone out there who is better than Jeff Sessions on any of these issues? Hes great. I think someone like Sessions could probably attract Democrats, Hispanics who are here legally who are tired of these stupid trade agreements and who have had their own wages undercut by illegal immigration, African Americans, certainly I think a lot of Tea Party people. Sessions is one of the few people to actually say it like it is. Last week during that keynote speech, Sessions called on the Republican Party to start offering policies that help ordinary Americans and to ditch special interests like Wall Street and Silicon Valley figures attempting to influence the partys policies.
I believe the Republican Party needs to sever itself from this elite consensus, Sessions said during that speech. We need to break it off. Wall Street, we love ya. Davos, hope you have a good time over there. But were going to be representing everyday Americans by the millions.

Disqualifed himself forever from consideration.
FWIW, Senator Sessions rated second in Heritage Action ratings from the entire AL congressional delegation.
Ingraham has been consistently wrong with the pols she backs, time and time again. I don’t know why anyone believes she is not a RINO cleverly fleecing her “conservative” listeners.
This sounds a lot like Southern speak akin to "Well, bless your heart." It is a genteel response to someone who is abhorrent.
Sorry, but you have jumped the shark in your Sessions disqualification with the example provided. Better luck next time.
Jeff Sessions can articulate the conservative postition very well and would be fellow that would get my vote ahead of Jeb, Rubion, Thune, and a host of others being mentioned.
Scott Walker would be better, but Sessions is a solid individual.
Our Republic would be blessed, honored and fortunate were Senator Jeff Sessions POTUS.
You ought to actually check his stellar conservative record, instead of cherry picking a comment.
And, BTW, he’s a US Senate Leader against illegal alien invasion.
sorry, can’t agree.
sen. sessions is solid, statesman like, true conservative.
in addition, he is humble but experienced, meek and wise, basing his positions on fact or as near as you can get in d.c. and has a perfect grasp on how to draw conservative dems (me being an ex-dem) like my family in particular. he is reagan like in his positions and demeanor.
right now, i’d support him for president. he’s on my short list.
Session is an amnesty supporter that would put the final nail in the coffin.
i think your thinking of rep pete sessions. not sen jeff sessions.
jeff sessions has been a stalwart in opposition to amnesty.
I pretty much agree with your analysis. This “I know you’re going to
do a good job” routine is a tool used by all politicians even when
they are sure the putz in question will likely be a failure. This
faux gesture of support gives the politician some cred when it
is time to turn the guy out to pasture. The best witness for the
prosecution is a friend of the defendent.
Sessions has always been a strong Constitutional Conservative. That said, he’d be a great Minority Leader, now and Majority Leader in the near future!
Maybe. Has possibilities.
Jeff Sessions besides being a true southern gentleman is a great conservative. He is one of the good guys.
Of all the people in the US Senate to start bashing why would you pick Jeff Sessions? If he wants to run for President which I doubt I would be glad to see him do it.
It is also a call out for, "I'm keeping my eyes wide open and watching you."
I would be honored to have Jeff Sessions as my President. Pete sessions, not so much!
You are thinkin’ that ass Pete Sessions. Jeff Sessions is against amnesty. Please get that right, would ya?
What is Sessions' opinion now? Aside from that Sessions is probably the most intelligent Senator. Probably not presidential timber.
I would vote for Sen. Sessions should he run, unless Sarah Palin was also running. Come to think of it, he would make an excellent VP for her.....
BS. I’d vote for Sessions in a heartbeat. I’d go back to sending out the max donation to a GOP candidate. I’d go back to making phone calls and standing on the corner with a sign convincing anybody that was convincible to vote for Sessions.
Newfreep....its customary here when proven to have put foot in mouth with as egregious a false claim as yours you come back and fess up and let us pick on you....lord knows I’ve made my fair share of faux pas here
BTW....OP.....has some crow waiting too
Concensus here looks like JEFF Sessions is OK...
lol, good advice. yeah, here, it’s smart to apologize, take some good natured (and not so good natured) lumps to thicken up your skin, and live to post another day.
>> This sounds a lot like Southern speak
Political etiquette with a South’n ta’wang.
Jeff Sessions is great. He’s been my distant, adopted Senator over the years.
Sessions was the third man standing next to Lee and Cruz back in September when Obama and Reid shutdown the govt.
Ok, so what part of ‘he was sure that Mr. Holder would be a responsible legal officer and not a politician.’ did you not read?
Sounds like someone who does not know the people around him doesn’t it?
BTW, I have the same problem with Ted Cruz.
Did you happen to notice what I said about Senators trying to be Presidents?
A Senator is hired by the people to offer an opinion, that’s all. He does not need to be right, just blather and vote.
Ted Kennedy way wrong 99% of the time. He would not make a good president.
Very very few sitting Senators make the Presidency.
So Rick Perry would be a better president than Cruz?
Bush would have been better than Pat Buchanan?
Pat McCrory is the best governor to run for president imo. Scott Walker is for cheap labor.
Gov. Pat McCrory on Wednesday accused unnamed High Point manufacturers of pushing for a loophole in state law so they can hire illegal immigrants instead of American citizens.
“Ok, so what part of he was sure that Mr. Holder would be a responsible legal officer and not a politician. did you not read?”
It sounds like you don’t have the sense God gave a rabbit.
Facts are really tough to swallow, aren’t they partner?
How would you know?
“How would you know?”
fact 1: Jeff Sessions approved Holder as AG
fact 2: Jeff Sessions uttered those words
fact 3: Only two Presidents have ever been elected as sitting Senators, Harding and Kennedy. Neither were exceptional.
Where are your facts that this Senator will make a good President? He has already thrown mud in his face after accolades for Holder.
Other posters adequately explained to you that Sessions’s comments were polite and didn’t indicate that he supported Holder.
You are either disingenuous and have an agenda or you are a dope. In your case I’m betting it’s both.
No facts, just blather I see.
Libs do not use facts either, so you must be a troller
Try your insults elsewhere dimwit. FR is obviously too hard for you to process.
Never facts, only attack the messenger.
Why not do as libs like you doall me a racist?
Because I’m not a lib. But you are an ass.
