A citizen’s phone call to Connecticut state police about a letter ordering gun owners to dispose of their unregistered so-called “assault” weapons and standard-capacity magazines is sending shockwaves through the national gun-rights community after being recorded and posted online.
The heated phone conversation over the document took place amid rapidly escalating tensions between gun owners and state authorities determined to impose more gun control on Connecticut residents. In the recording, state police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance – who did not know he was being recorded and told WND it was illegal to do so – can be heard telling the woman that anyone who refuses to dispose of their newly banned firearms in accordance with official instructions could face felony arrest.

The laws are now against the law abiding constitutional free Americans, and law enforcement could care less.
New York has a similar law. There is a large city near me and the State Police are doing ride alongs with the city cops in the bad (mostly minority) neighborhoods. The State police are flipping ( searching ) the cars during rutine traffic stops, the purpose is to bulster gun arrests under the new law, that is to bulster the stats. See some simple city cop can’t be trusted to charge a crime under the new law....in part because they don’t support it either. => They need those stats to support these stupid laws and give validation to their bleeding hearts.
So suddenly...profiling is in fashion in the progressive bastion. See how that works.
In the case of this story, it appears they have the audio to back it up. So I don't know what to say.......

Well... I wouldn’t characterize the LEO as “going ballistic”.
I’d characterize it more as he’s going to do EXACTLY what he is told to do, regardless of whether or not he knows it’s wrong.
So he took the side he is comfortable with... and it isn’t ours.
It’s not a surprise to me.
