The largest European refinery caught on fire today. The refinery happens to be in Russia.
It will take months to get production back up. Jalopnik reported:
Amazingly, no one was injured when Europes largest oil refinery, like, totally burned with the force of a thousand suns yesterday. And obviously its in Russia.P
The refinery is OJSC TANECO, formerly known as the Nizhnekamsk refinery, in Tartarstan. If you get into your Lada and drive due East from Moscow, youll get there in about 14 hours.P
Reuters reports that the fire was put out the same evening it started and there were no injuries. It will take a few months to get production back up.P

Red Storm Rising....
0bama could drill here and drill now until the price of oil dropped and Russia would too.
Not likely 0bama would use the great American oil weapon.
I wonder if this is the beginning of a Red Storm Rising?A refinery fire was the reason for the fictional Soviet Attack on NATO from Tom Clancy’s book of the same name.
I guess well have to wait till the damage reports come out.
Hay neodad I some how missed your post and I was thinking the same thing.
That was an Excellant book by the way.
Great book. Tom Clancy was a prophet in many ways...
Russia’s main export is ENERGY.
The OBVIOUS easy US tactic —even for a risk-averse muzzie homo— would be to FRACK LIKE FRACKING CRAZY.
Hmmmm. You don’t say.
It was an “accident” just like most of the ones here!
putin doesn’t miss a trick.
The fire was triggered by an offensive YouTube video.
The future does not belong to those who slander petroleum.
How do you say “Payback” in Ukrainian?
The crazy world of
That article is wrong. According to Reuters, the refinery only processes around 170,000 barrels per day. Not a small amount by any means, but not extremely large. Most west European nations have multiple refineries of that size.
I wonder if that refinery was also called the Reichstag refinery?
How does this translate into barrels/day?
It’s the refineries own web page. Google seems to do a good job translating...:^)
I call BS on the largest refinery claim.
Russian energy giant launches refinery
Daily throughput capacity is approximately 140,000 barrels of crude oil.
These are a few that are larger, there are more in Europe than these that are larger.

Belgium - ExxonMobil Antwerp Refinery 333,000 b/d
- Total Antwerp Refinery 360,000 b/d

United Kingdom - Fawley Refinery 330,000 b/d

Poland - Plock Refinery 276,000 b/d
Russia (Europe side) - Novo-Ufa Refinery 380,000 b/d

From your link:
In 2012, the manufacturing operation of the complex was brought to its processing capacity of 7,000,000 tons (translated)
7,000,000 metric tons of crude oil equal 51.31 million barrels per year or 140,575 barrels per day.
see the next couple posts, not close to the largest
perhaps Orange storm rising
Smells like a false flag operation, I think the National Socialists called it Operation Himmler...
Just out of curiosity why did you put the source as Breitbart? The link is to The Gateway Pundit and they just copied an article from Jalopnik which quotes Reuters and English Russia.
Clancy’s best book, by far.
The Redstag fire?
