An Alabama statehouse abortion debate Tuesday moved from the realm of reproductive rights to race when one Democratic representative said the state’s Republican lawmakers would make “their daughter have an abortion” if she were impregnated by a black man.
The shocking comments from Rep. Alvin Holmes (D-Montgomery) came shortly after Rep. Mary Sue McClurkin (R-Indian Springs) compared her bill to restrict abortions to the landmark Supreme Court case Brown vs. Board of Education, which ended in 1954 the legal segregation of public schools, The Birmingham News reported.

I thought we were trying to take away a woman’s right to choose (where this right to murder babies derives from I’m unsure) in order to oppress women. I get so confused.

He doesn’t know Republicans very well does he? Is he black? Sounds like he is projecting his own race hate. My grand children are half black—I love them with all my heart—and I am a strong Tea Party follower! To a Liberal every movie is 12 years a slave or the Butler.

I’m so sure Alvin has some facts to support this statement he pulled out of the air. Projecting his own mindset on others is my guess.
