Belligerent Russia Could Deny U.S. Access To Space

Leadership: Putting an economic and political squeeze on Moscow over the Ukraine crisis could bring another Obama chicken home to roost — our president killed the U.S. space program and made us dependent on Putin.

Since 2011, when America's space shuttle fleet was retired and our space program was dispersed to various museums, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which proudly put the first human beings, Americans, on the moon some 45 years ago, has largely been fixated on things like monitoring nonexistent climate change and Muslim outreach.

No doubt, we will only have Obama to blame for canceling the Space Shuttle program.

“We need each other to operate the station,” Chiao said. “Otherwise we run the risk of losing that asset.”

I hope they do just that. We don’t have a space program. We are an adjunct of the Russian space program. Maybe we will get back to business if we don’t have the Russians to let us ride on their rockets to their platform.

Income inequality is much more important than wars and space!

Income inequality is much more important than wars and space!

A billion dollars buys tens of thousands of Democrat votes.

The same billion dollars buys one-and-a-fraction shuttle flights.

You do the math.

If it weren’t for cumbersome federal regulations requiring years of costly testing and bureaucratic review, SpaceX could fly people in the Dragon capsule as early as next week - they’d just need to install the seats.

And if we impose sanctions they can simply seize the Space Station as Russian property. It’s not like anyone could do anything about it.

Ah well... we had our time in the sun. Americans these days aren’t to bothered by a nonexistent manned space program anyway.

This is something I’ve been expecting ever since we sent up our last shuttle. I cried that day. I knew this was going to happen.

Well, if Obama’s NASA can no longer hitch rides with the Russians, perhaps NASA can have Obama’s Muslim friends give them rides to space. After all, they have a monopoly on flying carpets, don’t they? Of course perhaps those carpets can no longer fly in all this global warming.

It would make a great campaign issue for the GOP to remind people that Obama killed the shuttle program.

“It’s not like anyone could do anything about it.”

Au Contraire...

Obama could send Putin two mildly worded letters of concern, make a speech at the UN, stomp his foot, blame Bush, take a vacation and fund-raise for democrats.

The space station thing isn’t the biggest danger. I’m more worried that the Russian NHL hockey players will be called back home.

OK, only being partially sarcastic. I like having the Russians play in the NHL.

I don't know if global warming will keep them from flying, but those are 7th century flying carpets. They have no oxygen, no food, water, no sleeping quarters, no life support systems. A flying carpet is a poor means of space travel :-)

The current (electric) Cadillac commercial starring Neal McDonough really bothers me when he says, "Americans left a car on the moon -- with the keys in it -- wanna know why? Because we're going back!!"

I always think: "Not in my lifetime."

NASA is preoccupied investigating global warming.
Just like our prime foreign policy goal is the promotion of homosex.

What a joke America has become. What a sick, pathetic joke. It would frankly serve us right if Russia pulled the plug on our space cooporation.
