Those going after the agency want to keep secret hundreds of millions in dark, undisclosed money to run political attack ads and muddy the waters.
The Internal Revenue Service’s regulatory process to define clear rules for political activity by nonprofit groups operating as 501(c)(4)s under the tax code has generated an almost unprecedented number of comments and requests to testify, just as the IRS “scandal” continues to generate outrage, much of it bogus, from Fox News, Darrell Issa, The Wall Street Journal editorial page, and others. There should be ONLY ONE campaign finance law: “Total Discloure.”
You MUST report every penny you receive and where it came from.
You cannot accept anonymous donations, any person or company can donate any amount they want, but since you are advocating for a public office you must reveal yourself to the public.
Certain political constituencies make death threats to donors against their causes. And since those constituencies are worshiped, they get no legal blowback as they should. So I see nothing wrong with anonymous donations to PACs. Period.
If everything has to be disclosed it would in effect any business/owner from donating anything.
The demonrats would sick all the government agencies on them and drive them out of business.
The unions would send the rent-a-mob over to picket and protest.
So gettign money out of campaigns would be the result?
All it would do is get CONSERVATIVE money out of politics!
Correct. They want the names, so they can target them. Get them fired from their jobs, prevent them from getting hired.
Now the the Left controls most of the money-stealing societal institutions, this is an easy plan for them to implement.
