Then 52, if there are sufficient seats in play. We MUST have a majority this time though. Even with quislings, like Jeffords, if you at least have the majority you can decide what comes to the floor and Reid doesn’t.

Never forget what a scumbag Harry Reid is.

“...dumb liberal argument that we should keep muzzle loaders legal as the people who wrote the 2nd amendment only had those and couldn’t foresee cartidge guns...”

Heheh. They’d like to believe that.

Too bad. Reality is a kick in the arse. And the reality kicking them is over 100 million+ gun owners in this country, the majority of whom are not giving in nor backing down.

This isn’t a used car salesman’s convention Mitch. Go peddle your lies to RINOPAC or whatever the moderates/establishment call their little get togethers.

The worst thing would be for Grimes to win, and cost us the majority. Got to have 51.

51 what? Consider your answer carefully.

Grimes winning is bad on multiple levels. It would also be the BIG story coming out of the election, sucking up the media oxygen and undercutting any GOP gains (or even a Senate takeover).

And it would also undercut the Conservative agenda by allowing Dems to stand their ground on the notion that the election was “complex” and had no meaning. I’ve seen Libs trot the danger McConnells in along these lines already, completely unwilling to acknowlege that he’s in trouble because his Conservative base is disgusted with him and is walking away.

“51 what? Consider your answer carefully. “

51 Republicans, who are not going to be perfectly conservative, because Texas isn’t Kentucky, which isn’t Massachussetts, which isn’t Minnesota.

But 51 Rs will keep Reid the scumbag from helping Obama. Reid stops all R amendments to bills. Reid protects Obama from the House Conservatives.

The country was doing very well with a solid R congress stopping Slick Willie, until he was impeached, and the media made him a martyr. And Trent Lott was kind of squirrelly too. Reid must be rendered impotent.

“we will fight tooth and nail for conservative reforms that put this country back on track,”

Liar! When the conservatives do step up and fight, Mitch attacks them! Hey Mitch, your actions are exposing you as a liar!

You know what Mitch McConnel is, Geron?

Mitch McConnell is weak. He looks weak, and he is weak.

I have had enough of American weakness, in fact I have had my absolute fill of it.

51 Republicans...

OK, so you've got McCain. There's one loss. Graham, another, McConnell, Collins...

With these useless Republicans alone, you're down to 47, and I can keep going if you like.

Yep - I'll bet one of his handlers recommended that he do this to fool all those red neck conservatives in the audience.

They’re not useless - the only way they could be useless is if they caucus with the democrats. By the way all voted against Obamacare when the question was should it pass or fail. Once you get 51, no matter how they individually vote, day to day, bill to bill, Reid can’t shut down conservative amendments on money bills or stop conservative bills from originating in the senate. 51 is Key!

You are right about that.

A Grimes win in the general against McConnell would allow Democrats to say that the mid-term election was not a referendum on Obama, but that it was a rejection of the Tea Party.

A Grimes win against Bevin would be a different story. That story would be about fueling the GOP feud between establishment and the righ-wing conservatives, and about the Tea Party not being "electable" in an election.

Mitch, we don’t want you in the senate at all. Matt Bevin would make a fine Kentucky senator.
