President & First Lady Scheduled To Visit Coral Reef High School Healthwatch On CBSMiami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Students at Coral Reef High School in Miami are in for quite the day Friday as President Obama, along with the First Lady, are expected to pay the magnet high school a visit.

President Obama and Mrs. Obama’s visit to South Florida will include a stop at Coral Reef to deliver remarks on the importance of a quality education and its vital role on the economic success of our country. Ahead of the President and First Lady’s visit, students of the high school, who at first weren’t told exactly who was visiting, have already been advised to arrive early and have been asked not to bring backpacks or large purses or bags.

Friday’s South Florida visit will be the second in the week for Michelle Obama who was in Miami Wednesday at a Miami health center to show the multiple ways health care consumers can sign up through the federal exchange.

I just got this message in my email:March 5, 2014 Dear Member,

The Ocean Reef Club is expecting a distinguished visitor this weekend, March 7th – 9th that will require an advanced level of security. As with all VIP visits, there may be some minor disruptions including special flight plan rules, closures at the airport and short closures of some roadways. Most of these security measures will be temporary, and should not impact the normal operations of the Club. We appreciate your patience, and apologize for any inconvenience in advance.

Ocean Reef has a long tradition in hosting many high level individuals, and all of those visits have added to our rich and unique history and to our reputation as the safest most secure private club in the world. Please help us continue this tradition by ensuring the privacy of this guest at all times.

Thank you,

With all that is going on in the world, Obama is out to lunch again. Maybe that’s a good thing. Funny how the White House schedule calendar shows the President NO public schedule for the next few months.

You mean he wasn’t welcome as an Alma mater to Punahou ?

You’d think he could wring a Hawaiian vacation out of his school trips.

As golf clubs go, the Ocean Reef Club’s traditions go back more than half-a-century to 1955, when the first 9-hole course opened. Today the Club boasts two championship 18-hole courses, a rarity in the Florida Keys – even among standard golf clubs. Although the Hammock Course and the Dolphin Course offer distinctly different tests of golf, both feature scenic vistas and an enjoyable challenge for players of all levels.

But Barry’s probably more interested in finding out where the local bath houses are. Get some Florida ‘strange’ through a hole in a bathroom wall.

On a less disgusting note, if Moochelle was just down in Florida this week why didn’t the b*tch save the taxpayers a bunch of money by combining both visits in a single trip?

Gawd, I hate those horrible grifters!

He can get in a few rounds of golf and she can stop in at the spa.

I though she was taking the girls and grandma to China for Spring Break or is this just the first leg of their vacation?

If I had kids in that school I’d keep them home tomorrow.

My son’s father-in-law has a place at Ocean Reef and this place is home to 1% of the 1%. Incredibly expensive and exclusive. You don’t just decide to live there you need to be screened.

The nobamas are the epitome of grifters. If we all have any luck, they will be upstanding prisoners in a federal penitentary.

I’m sure one of Obama’s major donors has provided a mansion for the family this weekend. Regardless, they are obviously accommodating an entourage of people into the airport and it is very expensive.

When the Bush family, or any other prominent family, stayed in Ocean Reef was NEVER any major announcement or special protocol.

Obama is apparently a diva.

Gloria Estefan is a Miami based Obama bundler.
I’d say she’s in the running for a visit.

Lots and lots of CEOs who I’m sure would love to have the grifters as guests. My son says the place just oozes wealth. The Obamas sure do like rubbing elbows with the “swells”.

I’m not so sure about that. Ocean Reef has many snowbirds from the NE.

Ocean Reef is actually one of the most modest and well mannered places in South Florida, possibly the country. You have to wear a collared shirt to enter a restaurant. It is nice to have a refreshing sense of etiquette in a town like this.

The Bush family, and other well known families, fit in well and move around unnoticed. Apparently a diva is in town this weekend and everything has changed. Like most of America, this resort has seen better days and is hungry for anything that can offer hope of better days.

Maybe administration is just being polite. Who knows?
