Amnesty is a vote-killer for GOP, says WashPo poll

A new poll by the Washington Post shows that amnesty is a vote-loser for GOP legislators.

The poll of 1,002 adults shows that pluralities of independents and moderates oppose candidates who support amnesty, which was euphemistically dubbed “a path to citizenship” by the poll designers.

The poll showed that 41 percent of independents and 37 percent of moderates were less likely to vote for an amnesty-backer.

Well, maybe they’ll believe the Washington Post.

They sure as hell never believed us.

As I read it, this poll is limited to moderates and indies.

Thus, rock-ribbed GOPers, such as moi, might be considered to be even less inclined to support an amnesty candidate (and more inclined to believe that the "pathway" nonsense is merely a cynical, amnesty end-around word game.

What polls do not seem to measure is the intense passion that the amnesty topic generates. We simply will not give ground on amnesty for illegal aliens, and that's that.

Amnesty for illegal aliens is a "pathway" for foolish GOP candidates to find the unemployment line.

The independents are mostly white. The GOP should try to get 3% more of the white vote instead of 20% more of the hispanic vote.

So... whether or not the government enforces the law is only a matter of votes?

That’ll be extrenely cheering news to all the nation’s would-be lawbreakers.
