National Harbor (United States) (AFP) - How do you win the White House? US conservatives and Tea Party faithful launched their annual convention Thursday seeking to answer that gnawing question after several setbacks in Washington.

Born of a grass-roots thirst for small government and greater protections of constitutional liberties, the Tea Party movement celebrated its fifth anniversary last month amid deep divisions within the Republican Party in a mid-term election year.

Internal battles have uncomfortably pitted the party's politicians against one another as the far-right seeks to oust establishment Republicans in the Senate and House that the movement deems insufficiently conservative.

But the movement's luminaries pushed a message of youthful can-do idealism before thousands of attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington.

"You want to lose elections, stand for nothing," boomed Ted Cruz, a Tea Party rockstar mulling a 2016 presidential bid...

Uh oh. TEA Party's in trouble again.

It was declared "dead" last year about three times, but now it's really having problems.

I don’t understand why the gopE don’t understand it. If true conservatives stay home or vote third party, they lose. But if the gopE would get conservative, the moderates won’t stay home. The only way they can win is if they get both groups.

From AFP this is good to hear. I don't think they've gotten anything in American politics right since Louis sent the ships to Yorktown.

They're finding this out with Palin, too. If you publishing story after story that someone or something is irrelevant, they're not.

And if the word “struggles” is in the headline, that means that the Tea Party must be much further along than they wish to admit.

No they don’t have a clue, but the democrats do
and they are afraid, not stupid. We will see a
full onslaught in the next two years.
Be ready, be steadfast, be prepared.

It’s not their job to win. The GOPe’s job is to keep the conservatives from winning.

Whatever...all they would have to do to regain power is to embrace religion, social issues, and God. People aren’t as stupid as the atheistic secularists would like to believe. Morality is as lacking in the Tea Party platforms without God...people see this and they’re not fools. I know its inconvenient, but it is the truth. The Democratic Party of America used to be full of Christians, too, but we see where they are now on their atheistic secularist path to eternal damnation and this nation is ruined because of it. It would be insanity to believe it could reversed without God.
