Millennial generation less religious, more liberal than older ones

WASHINGTON -- Members of the huge millennial generation are less religious, less likely to call themselves “patriotic” and significantly more‎ liberal than older generations, new research shows.

Although adults aged 18-33 are much more likely to call themselves political independents than their elders are, they are also far more likely to vote Democratic. Their views favoring activist government, as well as their stands on social issues such as gay rights, reinforce that voting behavior, an extensive study by the Pew Research Center shows.

Cause and effect of the dumbing down of America. A need to be dependent -- not independent -- of government. Social issues such as "gay rights." Since that is the only issue highlighted, seems as if it is a skewered poll. But then again, the young ones get their news from entertainment venues or Kelly Ripa, the View, Jimmy Fallon and John Stewart, so gays are all educated, well-groomed, tolerant, etc.; they just want to get married.

I wonder how they feel about babies being slaughtered? Social issue!

More left wing push polls to create consensus (conformity manipulation).

Yep. Once you and I head for that big Tea Party in the sky, this will become the People’s Republic of East Crapistan.

These liberal writers act is if people are static in their world view throughout life, when the converse is often the case. Yes, the current situation is dire, but not as bad as many make it - people GROW UP eventually and shed the foolishness of their youth.

Trends like this are the stuff that movements - restoration movements - are made of.

Or, they get entrenched in Congress.

Probably the same group that spells “You are great” as “UrGr8” or “Your great.” :-)

Always the case. The young are always more liberal and less religious until they get married, have children and get a good job and they find out that their lofty liberal ideas are not realistic. Look at the disaster of the Baby Boom Generation....that generation has made America what it is today.....Good God Help Us All!!!

There's one BIG difference between the youth of today vs that of yesterday

Demographics

Today's youth is much less White, so there won't be the usual turn more Conservative as you age that we seen in the past.

I don't believe this. Of the "informed" and "voting" type that I know of this demographic, most are "anti government control". They don't seem to know much, but they seem to at least acknowledge:

1) Democrats are in charge

2) Democrats play nasty

3) Democrats are always demonizing someone

4) Democrats raise taxes and spend more debt

5) All politicians suck.

For now that is, until they go into the “real world”, then you begin to smell the coffee and wake up.

Alabama sent its best generation off to die in places like Malvern Hill. Today when not even allowed to publically honor that generation.

Look at who we are supposed to honor.

They are also more likely to be living off their parents into their late 20's and 30's. They are less likely to be working. marrying and supporting a family. They are more likely to be looking to the government to support them.

This is what is known as the culture war. The bad people are winning.

You are correct to a point, but part of the dumbing down process has to do with "training" people to react emotionally rather than logically to political ideas and then making everything political.

Emotion blocks the ability to make a rational decision - even one in your own self interest. The Democrats have perfected the tactic of keeping their cult followers in a perpetually heightened state of emotion - usually it's anger and hate. One can see how effective it is by how bold they've become in letting their true intentions slip and yet not one of their groupies bats an eye.

So the most naive and least experienced, many who have yet to have their first real job or live on their own tend to vote democrat.

I’m shocked, shocked I tell ya.

And as long as we think this is just a result of “push polling” and not reality, we will wake up VERY soon and see that we have been completely ostracized by our once great Nation. There isn’t a poll out there that doesn’t make this clear. We are losing this battle big time. Shoving our heads in the sand isn’t going to help us “win”.

And millennials are more likely to be living in Mom and Dad’s house in adulthood and/or begging for substantial financial assistance.

So the gradual erosion of western culture and values including the rule of law embodied in the Constitution continues through government schools teaching Leftist dogma. The plan of the Fabians and Progressives more than a century ago.

Not to despair.

1) God is and always has been America's Keeper. If he so wills for another Great Awakening and miraculous turnaround from this slide into oblivion, then He will do it. If not, our redemption is sooner than later.

2) Either way, as "darkness covers the earth and gross darkness the people, the Lord rises upon us and his glory shall be seen is us" (Isaiah 60:2). Good things are in store from those who trust in Him

Well, who is teaching them conservative philosophies?

What are those sources that they encounter on a daily basis?

What counters the propaganda that they are assaulted with 24/7?

Yep. If another Ronald Reagan is to emerge, he’ll have to be able to convey his ideas in 140 characters or less.
