God Bless CPAC, he stated. Now I do have to start with a bit of bad news. Im sorry to tell you, but by virtue of being here today, tomorrow each and every one of you is going to be audited by the IRS. The audience, of course, appreciated his dark humor and gave the Texas senator a big round of applause.
Cruz explained that our country is at a crisis point. And that liberty is under assault. Cruz said that Americans have a choice: they can stand aside and not rock the boat and do anything, or they can stand up for principles. Cruz recounted the array of cautionary directives that we hear from Washington like Dont stand against Obamacare. Dont stand against the debt ceiling. Dont stand against Nothing. Cruz said that the way for conservatives and Republicans to lose elections is simple: "Dont stand for anything.
The Texas senator blamed the losses in 2006, 2008, and 2012 on conservatives not defining the causes for which they stood. However, in 2010, Republicans asserted themselves emphatically and drew a line in the sand. According to Cruz, Republicans stood unequivocally against Obamacare and against bankrupting the country and as a result won in an historic tidal wave.
Cruz made the point that recent Republican presidential candidates McCain and Romney were good and decent men but lacked the ability to draw a line in the sand and distinguish themselves on conservative principles. The senator claims that when Republican candidates dont stand for principles, Democrats celebrate.

Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
Rooney Eats It.
Cruz is 100% correct,AGAIN
Listening to Christie, his remark that we’ve got to WIN ELECTIONS kept bouncing around in my alleged brain.
When Americans were a far, far different people, electing folks who shared values with which the Founders could — with notable exceptions — identify was fairly simple and routine.
The problem — and I fear it may be terminal — is that WE ARE NO LONGER THAT PEOPLE!
Christie’s remark — and it has been echoed by others who hold themselves out to be “conservatives” — should terrify all who cherish freedom: What they’re saying between the lines is that to win sufficient votes to gain office, a candidate must abandon Constitutional, freedom based conservative/libertarian principles and appeal to the growing hoards of TAX CONSUMERS who are not about to give up the free s**t the Dems dispense to keep them on their welfare plantation!
That begs a very important question: If that IS where we are and will continue to go, what in God’s name is the use of saving the geographic place on the globe called America if America — THE IDEA — has been abandoned by the bulk of her “citizens” (and I use the term with tongue in cheek)???
I shall restrain myself from ranting about the role GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS have played in our demise.
Just askin’ a question here. Attack me for doing so if you must.
Boehner & McConnell, too.
No attack from me here. My observation is we have to fight to elect people like Cruz.
Voting for the unprincipled GOPE will just continue the soft tyranny.
If the ballot box ultimately fails us then the ammo box will be useful to restore our liberty in the manned described by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence.
Pragmatism, sir, is the death knell of principle. You are absolutely correct. Well said.

Thank you, Colonel.

Ted Cruz is the ideal candidate Conservatives have been hoping and praying for for years but despairing of ever having the opportunity to vote for.
So here he is, and all Conservatives have to do is get behind him. United we stand, divided we’ll fall if we break off into factions before 2016 to support the Rand Pauls and Marco Rubios and whoever else’s ego compels him or her to crowd the Republican field, thereby splitting the Conservative vote in the primaries and handing the 2016 nomination to another Mitt Romney, if not Mitt Romney himself, because the RINOs and their supporters like Karl Rove understand the importance of focusing on and directing funds to a single RINO candidate.
Can principled Conservatives stick together to support Ted Cruz? That is the question.
Thanks for your service.
And you as well.
